WT on "Help those who stray from the flock"? - friends sent us an email

today was the first of the two parter series on browbeating the inactive to get back to the meetings.. my other half who has been inactive for a short while received an email from a "friend" who's still in, acknowledging it's been a while since they last made contact and could they stop by to see how we're doing?.

the moment of truth - friends who ignore you and make no effort to contact you when you leave suddenly get a guilt trip over an article in the watchtower.. anyone else here had their door bell rung, received a phone call or email from a "concerned" friend due to this study article, or is it still early days?.

i got invited over for dinner. Nice couple, I love them to bits, but i know why they invited me and that bugs me.

But I will go, have a good time and try to avoid being "1-to-1" with the "elder" host.............

Can't find info... Watchtower says it's written work is 'part of bible'

there was a thread a few months back that contained a scan of (i think) the dec 15th watchtower where they said that the watchtower was to be considered part of the bible.

i really want to find that thread, i've been looking for hours i thought i had commented on it but it's not in my 'threads posted on' and i've been going through pages and pages and pages of threads and i've tried search but just can't find it.. .

does anyone who might have posted on that thread have a link to it?

has anyone else experienced something like this?.

in my mother-in-law's congregation a special pioneer was recently moved to the congregation and he gave a talk where he said he and the other elders felt there was a bad spirit in the congregation and there must be something going on that is preventing jehovah's holy spirit from operating properly.

but he didn't state explicity what the problem might be and now gossip is rife in the congregation about whether there might be a sinner or a traitor in their midst.. for many this is just the excuse they need to gossip and bad mouth others.

People perceiving a "bad spirit" is often just a disturbance in their personal game.

Need to vent - being hassled by elders!

nearly two years ago my husband and i abruptly stopped attending meetings.

we had one or two visits from an elder that i disliked, but that stopped when i told him not to come back.

we were patting ourselves on the back that we had been left alone.

Just tell them you became depressed after being offended. This lowered your immune system and now you have chronic fatigue syndrome and are allergic to perfumes.

It is not a time, friend, to think that because the society published a change in generation that Jehovah God, the great Theocrat, took his clock and moved it back, because some ants printed a Watchtower down there. Oh please, friends! We should not have been dealing with generation in the first place. It's none of our business. Did you ever see the apostles talk about generation? Didn't they have opportunity there? Not once did they mention generation, did they? Then we have no business doing it. Therefore, brothers, let us show our appreciation to our heavenly father Jehovah today.

so the GB & FDS are merely lowely, petty ants eh? Well I guess he got that right. And as for the generation? Who's WE??? ME??? OR THE FDS/GB???? So since YOU should have never been talking about it I guess WE should just learn to forget about it?????? CREDULOUS!

the high cost of divorcing a JW............

divorce is hard for everyone, unless the person is just jumping for joy to get out it.....but even then it can be rough....and you lose half your assets.....some people stay in bad marriages just because they can not afford to be divorced........ but esp if you are a born in jw.....you know what is so unfair compared to normal non-jw divorces????

?....what is so fukkin unfair?!?

ya I have seen this before.

inevitably SOMEONE is going to ratt-fink on someone else. Then after the "bad-spirit" is weeded out the cong. will all pat themselves on the back for resisting the bad spirit and all nod their heads about how jehovah is keeping the cong clean and directing the elders.

How about that elder in my old KH that banged a pioneer and left his wife? Did Jehovah direct him to do that? Or how about my old PO that banged another bro's wife and left his family behind? Or what about a PO in an un-named South-ON city that banged a bro's wife just recently? Did Jehovah direct that?
Well I guess they are all DF'd so in the end the cong was cleaned right? Well I suppose then while Jehovah was cleaning the naughty PO's out he missed all the teenage masterbators & internet porn surfers. But he'll get them later I'm sure.........
