hey I have a question then....
Can I eat blood fractions? ........ I mean - can I boil up a bag of "grey-area" fractions and make soup or sausage out of it?
i thought the main thing with the blood issue was that it was to be viewed from god's point of view.
not that it would be up to individual choice and conscience.
my point that i am trying to get to is this, how can a jdub accept blood fractions if they want to view blood in the same light as god would.. am i making this clear?

So while the current position of forbidding some parts of blood while allowing others doesn't make any kind of logical sense at all, it still makes sense in a cynical, purely pragmatic sort of way. Those that have formulated the current doctrine apparently don't believe their own arguments. They have some other motive for perpetuating the doctrine.
this is the kool-aid test. If you'll die for something you will probably live for it too.
If this is taken away alot more of what the org. says might not seem so important after all will it?
Martin.... I like your reasoning. It is simple but effective. How can such a 'major' issue like this be a conscience decision? Was eating blood a conscience matter for Jews? If this was so important to Jehovah, why the lack of clarity? How can one justify not only refusing/taking blood, but making this a matter of conscience? It either is or isn't.
I have opened up to a few JW's lately about blood and I always get them scratching their chin. I had an elder the other day actually agreeing with me. He was amazed about the point that fractions come from blood not poured out on the ground. He kept going back to that and commenting on it. I even went to the degree to tell him I felt that the blood issue was too full of holes to be finished with,,,, that I think in time blood as a whole (pardon the pun) will a conscience matter. He could only say that it would shake the organization.
I think he is right.....
it seems that many jehovah's witnesses are not so sure about "the truth".
from this and other website/discussion groups and from my own experience a lot of witnesses are having major doubts, but seem to be hanging in the organization, probably because of the disfellowshipping thing.
i hope the bethelite that came up with that got a big bonus.. .
Considering your moniker, your still being IN, like most and I DO MEAN MOST JW's, You have no sense of satirical humour. Put a big "L" in the middle of your forehead
Satire? obviously some, but this was not all satire. If so it rivals Steven Rice on the "Dry sense of humour scale". Maybe i read into more than WTW meant BUT.......
It still comes across as a stretch. If you are joking around put a or a . At least then "Losers" like me wont presume you are 'not' breaking your typical M.O.
i was told not to even look at them when i studied, but i did not buy the satan stuff about them and said well what have the watchtower got to worry about if they have the truth and no skeletons in the closet ?
i was quite tempted to speak to them and felt rude and judgemental , what did you used to think about them when you were dubs in the trufff ?
would like to know who is an apostate and is going to the assembly (cause of there family) to sit there all day...I'm stuck (for now) also...
It would be cool if we could stick together a bit there for support...
can you imagine? I gaurantee our row would be paying closer attention than anyone else there! GAURANTEED....

The witlesses are being drained of cash before they can accumulate enough for a computer (and, if that $800 tax rebate does come through, most of them are going to put it all into the Worldwide Pedophile Defense Fund or into expenses that come with the field misery). For instance, though I strongly believed that the Watchtower Society and Jehovah were exploiting humans to do the dirty work, it took a Google search to confirm it. I didn't even have a computer until July 2006, and until then, I could neither confirm nor spread my doubts. Now, I bet that with the no-college and the heavy emphasis on donating more to the Worldwide Pedophile Defense Fund, people are going to be unable to afford the $500 or so on a computer.
Plus, it takes time to learn to operate one. I was online within three hours of getting the computer out of the box. Not everyone is able to figure it out that quickly. Most people will spend a whole day just trying to assemble the damn thing, and that is a day that is "stolen" from Jehovah and that should have been wasted "saving" lives. And most people are going to take at least a week (at least most people that are witlesses) before they are able to navigate the Internet. Even the three hours I spent could have "saved" 180 lives had I been out in field circus instead of setting up the computer.
you know WTW, its comments like this validate claims that all apostates are vindictive liars. Where do you come up with stuff like this? there is nothing here you can substantiate to any degree. You only make yourself look hateful and foolish... sorry but its the "truth"
just curious...... have you as a jw / ex jw ever been to a psychic or spirit medium, or even played with a ouiji board?.
what was your experience ?
?.
so i guess my probing is,... what do we make of this?
I have never been to a psychic but I have "worldly" family that have and they have known details that could not be "generic" like meeting a special love or having a good or bad experience. I know ppl personally that have had Ouji board experiences, one reinstated brother I know had one while DF'd with friends in the room using a Ouiji board, I knew him well and know he was not lying.
My faith has been shaken to the point where I have almost lost all hope/faith in god, but what of these experiences? Do I believe in god because I believe in spirits or demons?
How does a person "know" you from a telephone conversation? There is obviously something out there. The question is what?
Sorry for my philisophical banter, I am just very lost right now. I appreciate your sharing

Many people do not know or believe that the US government was deeply involved in psychic developmentin decades past.
I have heard about that before, back in the early 80's so much spending on experimental military projects that got kaibashed when the cold war ended.

marking for later
i just finished reading steve hassans combatting cult mind control.
i found it to be an interesting read.
i have been inactive for 2 12 years now, so its impact was not as big on me as it would have been had i read it shortly after i began to have my doubts about the jws.
bought the book, hands shaking of fear.
doesnt this tell us something? I felt the same way when my CoC arrived, I was scared to open it!
I watched a documentary last night on Nat. Geographic about Jonestown,
-they preyed on the most vulnerable in society
-they use ostracism to keep them
-they hit newcomers with the love bomb and treated them differently to put on a front
-they showed videos of members talking about how happy they were when in reality they were miserable
-they pushed that "outsiders" were all seeking to do them harm and that they were only safe "inside"
-they encouraged only association among other cult members
-they used sleep deprivation to wear them out - okay so not this with WTS but always "busy" all the time - service, meetings, study, reading, more study, more study,...meantally exhausting
This all rang so true to me as a JW. How could we not see this for so long? How is it I dont go running now? Crazy stuff...........
