what if we are looking in the wrong direction?
We know there are ties between FM and Mormons, what about ties between FM and Adventists? Could this be a connection between CTR's terminology and symbolism with having actually been a FM?

So yes you could say that some of the doctrinal roots of the JWS were derived from the Freemasons by virtue of Russell's association.
agreed, perhaps not a membered Free Mason but certainly aware of their teachings.
Russell examined many faiths, he also stated that he recognized the Masons by their grips. How would he know the grips if he was not taught by a Mason? Russell was well versed in the teachings of the FM if not actually a member himself.

while it tends to allude to the crew getting rescued... and getting off of gilligan's island... it also tends to imply that things did not go so well.. i'm not sure i understood all of it... heck - i know i didn't understand all of it.. regards,.

did you notice that in a Flash Forward when the doctor accused Jack of being drunk he said that he wouldnt be half as drunk as his father.... the kicker was this was a flash forward. When the show initially aired it was still presumed that it was a flash back. So we know Jacks father is alive !!!
all boe have just got a letter telling them to encourage all parents to be more on guard with their children.
suggestions such as not letting your young children go to the toilet on their own, not working with older men on their own and not leaving children in the car on rv's and calls un attended.
the letter basically instructed the elders to remind all family heads that its their responsibility to protect their children whilst at and away from the hall etc.
i noticed about a year ago when I changed congs that the parents in my new KH would always attend their children to the bathrooms.
I had never noticed this before in other congs and I had not learned about the molestation trials yet. I had nothing to cause me to pay any extra attention, I very clearly noticed it.
I wondered if possibly we had an offender in our KH (?) maybe the elders knew something the rest of us didnt?
Well now I am sure there will be even more of it. .....
i have noticed, and posted a little bit about all the buzz surrounding this year.
there is a little bit of a whisper campaign going around that armageddon is coming this year.
from other posts i notice im not the only one who is seeing this, there is alot of "reminders" that we need to be obedient and trusting of the fds ( which i am of course), along with reminders to stock up and prepare for disasters etc they are really pointing to something.
an elder told me today that its because its 33 years from 1975, 33 being the length of Jesus life, so 33 +1975 = 2008
this is absolutely absurd!! What does 1975 have to do with anything?? When 75 came and went it was then said that they were wrong because the end of the creative day were after EVE was created.
So what then? Now 1975 was accurately calculated but they just forgot to add 33.5 years?? Was does 33.5 years have to do with anything? Even if the 1000 year days were literal (which they're not) the 1975 calculation is still wrong, it means nothing!
for the record, I have not heard this rumour. I have only had to hear repeatedly that the GB "strongly" believes that armageddon is really really close this time. Now they really really belive it this time. And of course this is followed up with years texts about how close the end is and changes to the WT mags and DC announcements (ie: no theme mentioned in the initial KM DC insert) It will never end. PS - I am increasing my RRSP contributions this year and I shredded my blood card.

Harold Perrineau (Michael) is listed in the main cast credits again. We haven't seen him for almost 2 years (or about 30 days), since he left with Walt. His character left as a traitor and murderer, so I wonder how he is brought back.

"the brothers in bethel/headquarters seem very sincere and loving - what possible motive would they have in trying to deceive people, what do they get out of it?
it is obvious they know the history of the org and the skeletons in the closet, but I despite this I think they really do belive that "the end justifies the means."
They do recognize they are imperfect, but they just reinforce to themselves over and over that despite these things they are the only org. even trying to find truth. Even though they know teachings will change they MUST be the true org. (in their minds)
this year, the crapmorial will be after sundown on march 22, a saturday (easter is march 23).
there will, in fact, be a drive to hound people into attending.
and i found from the december 2007 kingdumb misery that the 2009 crapmorial is april 9, a thursday night.. not that i recommend attending either one of those wastefests.
funny how the subject Memorial comes up and it generates an add for Acid Reflux in the advertiser box. Oh the irony....
a friend of mine's daughter has a friend at school who is a jw.
she cannot invite the frined to her birthday celebration at home as that would offend.
however, they are going swimming to the local pool.
do you mean the B-day party is at a local pool or that perhaps your daughter and your friends duaghter are swimming and want to invite her along?
Either way, the JW probably wont be allowed. Defintiley no for B-day either way. And not for worldly association at the pool either. Sorry. I lived it.... I know.
