this may be the topic of an old thread but, if the g.b.

and wts don't have good motives, what is the point of the whole religion?

i mean, it doesn't appear that anybody is getting rich or am i missing something.

Other than blood fractions the pendulum has swung back the other way! We are told what to read, view, listen too.(Sep07 KM) Education is a no-no again. Oral sex is a no-no again.
After my last assembly the buzz is about throwing out any clothes that are even slightly revealing or tight.

JW's like to say this is the case but in reality it isnt. Its all about wording. The WT talks about conscience matters and stumbling others in the same articles.
It is up to our conscience as to what we do BUT - if we stumble our bro/sis then look out. We may be blood guilty.
IN OTHER WORDS - We arent responsible for the consequences of your decisions because we never actually told you what to do so you cant sue us if things go bad, but if you make the wrong free choice Jehovah may kill you at Armageddon. So make your own choice but if your choice isnt the one we want you to make you should use your free will to make the other choice.

I have been in this org long enough to know this IS the case. The recent study WT's have enforced this more than ever. JW's think they have more freedom of choice because they have been programmed through double talk to come to that conclusion. This is what cults do !! and the WTS are VERY good at it!

i got an email about a "famine" in egypt and how they are running out of food. the Subject was "do not harm the oil and the wine - pale horse continues his gallop Sign of the times" something to that effect.

I said go figure they are having a hard time growing food in the desert. Didnt they have a major famine there 4000 years ago? isnt that why the isrealites ended up there to begin with???? I guess it was a sign of the times back then too?

My favorite is how the end is near because of the weather. "This is the warmest winter since 1944 ! Sign of the times!" well wait a sec. - did you not just say we had a winter this warm in 1944 then? why is this a sign now and not then?

well, the elders are coming over tomorrow for a shepherding call with me and my wife.

i am sure they will discuss my low hours in the field ministry and how i am not doing everything i could be doing.

for my wife's sake, i will be good and mostly "smile and nod".

i had one of these a few months ago. Prepare to get invited out in service. Try and pick a Saturday when you know it will be pouring rain so you wont have to do territory!

They are going to ask you if "anything has happened?" or "have you be doing anything?"

they wont come out and ask you if you have looked at apostate sites.

I used the blood issue and the many recent changes in the WT. I just said it is taking me time to absorb it all. They will agree with you. Trust me, they have been thinking about all the changes themselves.

Just thank them for your time and go out in service with one of them. hehe ;)

in september 2004, farkel posted an article on this forum called "rutherford exposed: the story of berta and bonnie.

" his essay, which subsequently was translated into several languages and which received over 10,000 views after the first month, spawned a thread that ran 28 pages and contained the collaborative research efforts of many in jwd.

this thread was thought by some moderators to be the best in the forum -- not necessarily because of the claims in the original essay but because it inspired a staggering amount of research aimed at assessing the credibility of the claims made in the essay, as well as adding to our knowledge of this fascinating yet obscure chapter of watchtower history.

"A good friend of mine was an elder in the hall in Long Beach, California, long after da judge's death, is the source of this information. She requested that the elders (my friend being one of the elders) meet with her (she was in her 70's), because she wasn?t sure if she would receive her heavenly reward. The elders met, and she told them the relationship she had with Rutherford over a 15-year period! She even showed them movies of the two of them, hugging and kissing, shortly before dropping this "bomb shell!"

any chance of ever finding those films??? wow!!!

All those here bragging to being an active elder and coming on here opposing, what is your agenda? or is it as I suspect just b/s, to make it look like elders know what is going on and spill the beans. I think they lie period.

Fresia, we dont hate you. As a wise former JW governing body member said once - "we are victims of victims" You, and many here are a testimony to that fact. I am not an elder. But I am an active JW. I said the closing prayer at the Book Study last night. I have been a JW my entire life. I am married to an active JW. Almost all of my family are JW's. All of my friends are JW's. What is my agenda? Am I lying? Why would I? I would only be lying to myself. You forget that many of us here at one time thought the same way as you do now. This is not bragging by anyone, trust me, none of us here want to be in our situation, many have likely expressed their feelings of emptiness to their shrink. Trust me. No one is bragging. We all wish our pasts didnt include the WTS. If you disgagree with us so adimately, why are you here? Is your anger a ruse to shield the guilt associated with your own feelings of doubt?

if the wts and jws were to dissolve, i'm sure many of us would have mixed emotions....elation that a destructive.

cult has finally lost its hold....joy at seeing family members embracing us as people once again...etc.. having been raised in it, i have so many little memories that have come to be like little collectibles on a shelf.. i'll give you one.

if anybody else remember these, i'll be surprised.

i remember we had soft ice cream at our circuit assemblies. when the food tickets were gone and it was donation only I ate a lot more ice cream!

The Distict Assemblies had that chocolate pudding that was half frozen so it was like icecream ( a little bit)

And who could forget all those cong "get-togethers" (dont call it a party!)? Lots of food and Euchre and baseball. Those were always fun....
