got to share an experience.
because of hippa rules, at my place of employment, i have to choose my words carefully.
a large, boisterous, and talkative lady, was... shall we say near me, and we talked.
when i had been inactive for about a year, i was on a temp job and someone had a jehovah's witness calendar on their desk.
i still had the assumption, b/c i was nice and didn't judge people when i was in, that i could bring it up.
so i asked her what congregation she went to. it was a congregation i had went to seven years before so i asked how some people were doing. she got that invasion of the body snatchers look b/c i had a goatee, so she said, 'you should go back to meetings'. i said, 'no thanks' and probably something very sarcastic, b/c i get sarcastic when i'm angry, and i didn't talk to her for the rest of the temp job...which i quit within a week b/c the whole place was depressive people, woe is me people, and she had her jw personality turned on, woe is me and the only way i get through every day here is by the grace of god face.

a bethelite's viewpoint on the recent organization changesto me the most obvious reason has nothing to do with control, or money.
it has everything to do with the serious shortage of qualified brothers who can (or who are willing to) be used.
and throw in a few horrid disasters that have just happened and it'll probably bring some inactives back 'in', since 'it's the end'.

so 2 weeks ago i went to my 2 day ca.. this had lots of interesting tid-bits, like the wt summary of the generation change.
the conductor said that if we were listeing to jesus speak we would have known he was speaking about us!
then he followed with "and thats probably what they understood too" - i couldnt believe he actually said probably.. anyway, at the end of sunday the do came about and went into a bit about all the things the org has done for us.

kind of like, 'look, we got sadam out of power', but not bringing up the billions of $$ made on oil, etc. and conveniently forgetting the horrid dictators in African countries who are doing worse than what sadam did, but they don't have the oil.
wtbts is all about political spin. hopefully the internet and the continued information flow will seep into the consciousness of many jws so they can get out before they jump out of a building:

i have no doubt that the wtbts, for 75% of them, believe they're doing what's right.
but indoctrination goes deep and if they've lived a life that is a lie, most wouldn't be able to accept it. if they knew the truth they'd put a gun to their heads.
even though jws have a lot of accountability re: this, there are other religions just as whacked with leaders who think they have it right and would lose all sanity if they sat down and seriously considered human behavior vs. scripture vs. abuse.
hell, my dad was one of them, victim of a nervous breakdown for being a prick elder for years...hospitalized b/c the other option was that he would act on his homicidal rage.
a very good friend of mine is convinced that the change in the book study arrangement.
is a sign that the end is so near and the jehovah made the change to emphasize the.
importance of the meetings.
it's all spin, and the wtbts can sit and spin and the drones eat it up.
