  Hi Gizmo!

  Firstly, I just want to say that you are one of many of my favorite posters to read, and I really appreciate your taking the time to scan the enthusiastically marked pages, it was important to me that you did so.

  As far as my shot about the fat, tri-color pen, I was being facetious (perhaps one or two may have caught my attempt at humor) as I am almost always when exploring my FDS Corporate legacy. An association since birth, that wouldve been silly if it werent so tragic in some cases.

  Please forgive me for forgetting to insert a smiley face indicating I meant no harm.

  However, with respect to your zeal of study regardless of source, I am now intrigued as to your method of using multi-colored pens when underlining!

  Agreed, and well said Giz ... but not only are they just wrong, could they be distinctly disingenuous in their presentation as well.

  I have to agree with the FDS Corporation on this one, what are scientists trying to gain from picking on small European low countries that simply have a charming penchant for windmills, Tulips and wearing goofy wooden shoes.

  Lets face it, some scientists appear to hate only two things, persons who make disparaging comments about other cultures and the Dutch.

  Hey Giz, as a Jehovahs Witness, I've tried to appear somewhat zealous with the books I bought from the FDS Corporation, but I never experienced actually underlining pertinent paragraphs in Technicolor.

  I have to confess I was jealous of other Jehovah's Witnesses who possessed those big fat tri-color pens that made them look more spiritual than me.

  Also, reading the contents of the tripe you scanned, if you disregard the obligatory religious patter, the instruction is almost indistinguishable from other low skill level, motivational sales books one is required to purchase if one is serious of achieving fulfillment power selling their unique products.

  Dumbfounded by COC

  over the weekend, i read for the first time crisis of conscience.. whilst i was already familiar with much of the material on chronology, 1874, 1914, etc.

  i was dumbfounded to learn how the governing body actually works and conducts itself.

  i think that many of us who have been elders in the past can really relate to ray and the battle he faced.. i must admit, i thought it was just me, and the battles i have faced with local hard-line elders.

  do not have time to study the Bible deeply themselves but at the same time are willing to make doctrinal decisions at the drop of a hat.

  That's the easy part! The tough job is making the bureaucracy of a financial empire perform like a well oiled machine.

  FINALLY stood up to my father re: religion!

  as you all may remember, i left the organization 4 years ago - never df'd, never dissassociated, just left.

  my parents initially tried everything they could to get me to come back but to no avail.

  they've never really shunned me because we still talk on the phone, but seeing that we live on the opposite coasts, i've only seen them once in 4 years.

  Clearing the Laundromat of Propaganda

  well, today was 'wash day' at the laundromat.

  it is also the time that i rid the laundromat of the propaganda that seems to collect there.. you know what i mean.

  it seems to be a collection point for watchtower and awakes that jws seem to want to leave there.. today, i hit the jackpot!

  Yeah, no kidding ed.

  Personally, as a long term inactive JW and as odious as I now find those magazines, I feel the producers of those rags would rather they be discarded as quickly as possible also.

  Not only to create a marketing demand so that Jahs Sales Associates will purchase more of next weeks issue, but the corporation must realize the magazines esthetic value is very low and any discerning reader would come to the same conclusion if they actually allowed themselves to critically scrutinize the magazines content in relation to the reality.

  A more fitting demise for the magazines than rogue censorship would be to leave them to fester in the wind like Las Vegas nudie call girl advertising littering the gutters of The Strip or the more environmentally friendly; inserts placed inside the magazines with instructions of where on the internet one could find alternative information.
