friends of my girlfriend's family are lending us a cottage in france this summer.
i want to have my two daughters there for a week.
You say shes reasonably intelligent but I cant imagine a reasonably intellingent mother not knowing how important it is to her kids to be able to spend quality time with their father...or how lucky they are to have a father who loves them so much. Anyone who would deny her children time with a loving father without a good reason is a selfish, stupid biaatch.
Sad. (((((abaddon)))) hope it works out that you get to bring the kids and have a great time!

a friend of mine was approached by a asian family living here in the u.s. that wants to get a family member, a 18 year girl living in the south east asia region here to america.
they want my friend to get married to this girl for a year or two so she can eventually become an american citizen.
the family living here has offered to pay for all expenses; my friends air ticket over there and back along with any other expenses incurred plus a lump sum payment upon her successful immigration here to the u.s. my friend is maybe considering it but he hasn't even seen a picture of the girl yet and he is somewhat older(about 9 year difference) than the girl.. now if they fall in love or consemate the relationship, that's totally up in the air and i guess open to bargaining and my friend would totally be free to get a divorce once the girl gets to the u.s. i did ask some of my friends what they thought, and everyone pretty much said no.
American women just have the most awful accents. Thats my view.

i just got back late monday with the boy after a week and a half (a few pics and possible rundown may follow, for those with insomnia).
the badger pup and i were getting ready to run some errands today when he chirped up.... "daddy, do you go to meetings?".
a toughie...the look in his eyes was pure curiosity.

after reading many experiences and comments on the board, i have begun to have questions.

a baptized brother in a local congregation stopped attending meetings months ago.
he hasn't been disfellowshipped, nor has he taken any steps to disassociate himself from the congregation.
he hasn't even been marked or privately reproved - god, i hate this type of cultish lingo, he just stopped attending meetings.
This kind of shunning isnt new at least in my experience. In our congregation one could easily be shunned even if they are witnesses.
Once you stop attending meetings you are going to start getting shunned because you are bad associations. Spiritually weak ones have always been shunned for the most part in my experience just not as strongly as the df'd ones. They will get a pleasant, albeit fake, 'hello we miss you at the hall', in a grocery store whereas a df'd person will get ignored completely.
