  Help !!!! I need some answers...shall I continue in the truth???

  i need some answers or advice from the experienced brothers/sisters regarding my stand.

  i am too shy to go to the elders.

  shall i continue and pursue my life and hopefully be part of the organization once again ??

  You are probably going to get a lot of different, and maybe angry answers to your questions as there are former and current JWs posting here, so be prepared!

  I also read have questions in my head about some topics that I can't get the answers to..I know it's a sin and sad to know that I can be lured again to some different lifestyle but this man is honest, caring, respected, and much wiser than I am

  Could you explain this statement a little better? What are the topics you need answers to and why do you think it's a sin to find the answers? And please if you already know deep down inside what the answer is to continue with this man or not, listen to YOU. I am not a man-hater by any means, but what is it about him that you think he is wiser than you? This is a question worth serious consideration.

  It says in your profile that you have read JW literature. In every publication they print, it says on the first or second page who publishes it. Do you ever look at these pages in any publication you read? Not just WTBTS literature? I'm kind of surprised you would ask that question.

  I'm starting to really get into the New Testament. This is great!

  stuff i never really touched much when i was a studying with the witnesses.

  i'm in awe.. amazed.. at the things jesus is saying/doing.. some of it is even putting me in tears.

  one chapter that i really love so far is i'm in luke and i'm reading about the woman who came into the pharisee's home and started kissing jesus' feet and jesus told the story of the two people that owed money.

  Of the New Testament books, I love the gospels because they include much of what Jesus taught, and will take his words over anybody else's (including the apostle Paul). I also like John's epistles, Peter, James and Jude.

  What's the main purpose to the out of town Assemblies?

  with all the meetings jw's attend each week, why do they need a district assembly or circuit assembly?.

  is it to show how big the organization is or is it just to baptize a few.. couldn't this be done staying in their home town.

  is there a financial advantage to the watchtower to have these assemblies out of town ?.

  Remember reading of the famous ones at Cedar Point, or the massive one at Yankee Stadium and the Polo Grounds?

  I was at the one in 1958 in Yankee Stadium, Polo Grounds and lots of overflow tents. A lot of colorful costumes people wore from different countries.

  my wife of 35 years and i were talking last night.

  i was raised a witness.

  she became a witness on her own volition at about 13 years old.

  OK, Your Opinion: Are Witnesses Who Practice Their Religion "Bad"?

  if a jw is an ardent believer, and faithfully practices his or her religion, are they, in your mind, "bad" or "evil", in reality?

  No they are not necessarily bad. IMHO, there are secular JWs and spiritual ones. I think I don't have to explain the difference, except that the spiritual ones are actually seeking to have a relationship with God and have a good conscience; believe the things they are practicing will bring blessings from above. I also think these are the ones who end up leaving JWs either by DF, DA, fading or just stopping in their tracts.

  I have had tarot readings twice this year; I buy lottery tickets, I play slot machines, (recognizing my limit), had my chakras balanced thru stones and tibetan singing bowls, experienced some energy work which brought up emotions I didn't know I was harboring.

  As far as people are concerned, there were some witnesses I didn't want to associate with and some I did, just like non-witnesses I knew.

  i thought it might be nice to see some positive things mentioned about jw's.

  now, i know mentioning these things may be hard given the experiences here, but i've yet to find a group of people who don't have something positive about them.

  if there weren't something positive, no one would ever join.

  When my mom was pregnant with me, some JWs gave her flack for getting pregnant "when we're so close to the end." One of the anointed sisters took my mom aside and told her not to let these people upset her, and to be happy about having a child no matter what time period it was.

  As a child in the '50's going to this same KH with my mom there were around 7 people who professed to be of the anointed. They were kind and sweet even to a little kid like me, and as a result I have fond memories of them.

  In the '60's some of the brothers in another congregation I was in, who were well meaning, would get all us teens together on Saturday nights, and we would study the WT magazine and be free to express ourselves. Apparently this was happening in a lot of congregations throughout the country, Soon after that, orders came down from the society stating that these "gatherings" were unnecessary and the WT should be studied within the family. So a good thing was no more...
