I know there are really no words that will make it better, I am so sorry for your loss. I am glad that you feel the love everyone here has for you, I hope that you are comforted knowing how much we care.

I lost my son almost 2 years ago and I had a lot of support. I am sorry you have to deal with the JW nonsense/ignorance on top of such a great loss.

Please feel free to express your feelings and never, ever feel guilty for your emotions. We're listening and you have our love and support. Our hearts ache for you.

The 2 Witness Rule & Adultery

isn't it interesting that the watchtower organization does not require 2 witnesses to prove an allegation of adultery.

if the elders, for example, believe a christian wife who says she's been cheated on, but her husband refuses to acknowledge this to anyone else but her, she can state in writing that her spouse committed adultery and she will be free to remarry if the elders simply believe her!.

yet, this same rule does not apply to pedophilia!.

Where is this article about writing a letter?

I have a friend who has been disfellowshipped for 2 years because she was not free scripturally and remarried. She told the elder that her ex had a woman staying all night even with their son there. Why didn't they tell her this?

She has rarely missed a meeting in all this time and goes to the assemblies and conventions. She's had numerous meetings with the elders and even though the elders at her new congregation think she should be re-instated the elders here refuse.

i was reading this nonsense at my mom's house yesterday and when i agreed with one of the definitions for "discreet" from the article, i said, "how could anyone think they were ever discreet when they got everything wrong from russell's day until now?

were they discreet when they said because the end is so close you shouldn't get married, have children and make families??

is that "discreet" or just the opposite???

it would be interesting to hear what people think will be the things (if any) that jw's wont be able to deny from barbara's work.

for example, over on the topix boards, many are crying out that the "dismissed with prejudice" documents prove nothing and that there is no "proof" any settlements were paid.

i havent hardly begun sifting through the mountain of material, and it may be too early to start a thread like this, but it would be good to hear some comment and opinions that "answer the critics" about this bundle of material..

Shock- I felt like a zombie.

Denial - I wanted to believe e-watchman's (read: lunatic fringe) bs about the evil slave, still God's organization yadda...

Anger - Protecting pedophiles and Malawi pissed me off. A LOT.

Depression - This is going to completely change my life.

Acceptance - It could be worse, I could be on my death bed.

Almost completely free - This is going to completely change my life!
