  My mother......sheesh!

  for those who know a little about my past and my mother - she had the nerve to call me today and leave an urgent message for me to call her.

  i thought it was about my dad or that something bad had happened since her last comment to me was that i was dead to her, or something to that effect.

  some days its so far in my past, i can hardly recall it.

  i can go along for months, sometimes years and not think about it.

  Leslie - I watched my mom get beaten by my dad, and I was beaten by my dad on a regular basis.

  I thought it would never happen to me. It did. My first husband put me in the hospital.

  My current husband, the one I just left, was verbally abusive. He tried to intimidate me by pushing and backing me against the wall a few times. The last time I called 911, when the cops came, I told them a big lie and they left knowing that I lied.

  It pissed him off but it scared him enough that he never did it again.

  I am so glad to be out of there.

  Your story is one I know well, I'm proud of you for being strong enough to post it.

  Update on family reunion and other things

  ok, it's been awhile and i thought i'd tell you guys what happened about the family reunion situation.

  to rehash... i wrote a letter telling all the jw's in my family that i wasn't going to take any crap off them anymore, that i would embarass their dumba#* if they treated me badly in anyway at funerals and reunions and the like.

  i told them i was going to bring information about the idiot jw's to every family event and i was going to get in their faces if they chose to treat me badly cause i refuse to follow the fools at the wtbts.

  the jw's brought doctrine into a form you could tolerate, reformed the religion to allow better tolerance of those who disagree, and made prolific apology to those whom it has hurt [i know that some have been hurt that are not any longer with us, etc.

  had a new to me explanation of something i've questioned about matt 24:45-47. i, along with some here, wondered why the "slave" in matthew is singular when the wtbts says it has to be a "class" because no one person could live long enough to be the slave.

  personally, i've wondered why it couldn't be each person individually, but the d.o.

  says there is precedent.

  New generation change: blaming rank & file again?

  the worst part of the "1995 generation change"- implementation was for me personaly the watchtower study-article defining the new (or changed) doctrine.

  the article mentioned that rank & file witness "thought" that the generation was related to 1914 because they want it so.

  it hurted me deeply and i am still agry (12 years later!)..
