Now versus 7 Years Ago.....
by AK - Jeff inwe have been out of the organization since 1-1-2004 - at least that is the way we mark it to remember.
we began to read ray's books in late fall/early winter of 2003 - a thousand pages later and a few weeks - viola - we were out to never return.. i was contemplating just how significantly i have personally changed in that period of time - not the stages, though there have been many stages.
but the raw contrast of my opinions, moral stance, and view of the world is amazing.

Another question about disfellowshiping
by XPeterX inif the elders decide to disfellowship someone and after being reinstated it is proved that he didn't commit the wrongdoing, what happens then?do the elders apologise to him?.

I knew a sister who was DF'd when she remarried after a divorce. Years later her first husband (non-witness)admitted he had cheated on her before they were divorced, thus breaking the marriage bond and freeing her to remarry. I don't know if she received an apology but no apology could erase the years she spent hanging her head in shame and being shunned as she went to the meetings attempting to be re-instated.
I do know that her second husband (also not a JW) was not impressed...

I don't know what do
by XPeterX inlast saturday night my older sister,24 years old,not a jw,went to a party.to make a long story short she almost got raped by a guy who found the chance to do so (he has been accused of rapes in the past too).then my sister called 3 of her neo-nazi friends after the party to attack him.so they took knives, clubs, and crowbars and went at his house.he managed to escape and didn't apologise for anything.now they are planning to kidnap him, drive him in a deserted place and beat him really bad and make him regret it.what should i do now after all this?i can't sleep at nights..

Your sister needs to call the police ASAP and press charges of attempted rape. If she doesn't then you should do it.
Get that scum bag off the streets legally and leave the neo-nazis out of the picture.
Oh, and your sister needs to get some new friends.

JW mother or not?
by blondie inover the next 15 years, police checked in with sagala each year and sent her a questionnaire, but she had no new information.
she said she periodically tried to contact her estranged husband's friends and family in mexico with no luck.. eventually, sagala said she tried to move on with her life.
she started a long-term relationship withanother man, gave birth to two more children a girl and a boy and threw herself into worship at her jehovah's witness church.. sagala tried to recreate the life she lost with her first two when her new babies arrived: she gave birth at the same hospital, incorporated parts of their names in her new children's names and dressed them in the same tiny outfits she had saved.. "i went to church, i prayed, because as a mother, i'm not strong enough for the burden i have now.

Not. At least not baptized. She could have said "church" to be understood. Then again, JW's don't go to the KH to pray (sounds like a Catholic thing)... Nah, this story's not right...

When people are in great danger from a source that they do not suspect
by dgp inwhen persons are in great danger from a source that they do not suspect or are being misled by those they consider their friends, is it an unkindness to warn them?
they may prefer not to believe the warning.
they may even resent it.

The WT teaches that witnesses who do not exert themselves in the ministry may become bloodguilty for missing opportunities to save people who could otherwise die at Armageddon. This instills a mentality that is not so much concerned with the people they preach to but about saving their own necks. This is quite different from sounding a warning of impending danger. One typically does this to save others. In both cases the recipient of the information has a descision to make, but in the case of many JW's the warning is given to save the warner's life first and formost.

For those growing up with a non-JW parent
by JWinprotest injust curious to hear from those that have gone through a similar situation.
my dad was extremely opposed to jw's and went balistic when my mom converted.
he did everything in his power to keep us from becoming witnesses, (forcing us to stay home from meetings, forcing us to go to church with him on holidays) but i think that worked against him, because we viewed it as persecution.. here is my question though.

Tell him before it's to late. It will mean the world to him. :)
