Personal experience of accepting Jesus as God, how was it for you?
by digderidoo ini have decided to start another thread to the one on jesus...god or god's son?.
the reason for this is that i started a thread really looking for personal experiences, looking for reasons those with a jw background would change their opinion on this.
i wanted to know why those that believe that jesus is god now feel this, whereas years ago they didn't.. i think it's a shame the other thread has descended into a debate between trinitarians and jw apologists, whereas only a couple of posters responded to my original post.

It's not OK to blast music in your driveway if you are in a neighborhood.
by restrangled injuly 4th is ramping up....several neighbors feel its ok to blast their radios.
by blast, i mean i can hear the music from a block over.
i have rock coming from the back of my house, spanish music coming from either side of me, and christian rock filling in front.

70 years = 607?
by allelsefails in70 years of captivity?.
i myself have always believed that when archaeology disagreed with the bible the bible must be right.
that is how i dismissed the idea that jerusalem was destroyed in 586/587 bce.

ARE YOU BEING MONITORED BY BETHEL? (not really!!)
by AllTimeJeff inthis is for anyone who cares... just my thoughts and opinions, which have slightly changed since i have left the cult.
a poster named melita said some really inappropriate things on barbara andersons thread on jaracz's stroke, which got me to finally post this, just to put it out there...... when i first left, i was scared s*itless that i was being monitored and watched by bethel for reading and posting here.
and i bet i am.

Worshipping Jehovah without all the rules?
by ptucker8357 inhi again.... i've been searching around for a few days now trying to understand whether or not there are spiritual folks out there who believe some of the fundamental tenents of the witness religion, but don't believe in all the rules that the gb puts forth... many of the folks that i talk to tell me that the only way to salvation is through acceptance of jesus as god.
i do accept jesus as the messiah, as a perfect man that god sent to atone for the sins of adam, but i don't believe he is god.... i believe there is one god, one son and one holy spirit and they are not three persons in one god... i feel weird whenever i go to another service that exalts the trinity, as well as some other basic rituals of their religion.... am i making sense?.

Wobble, do you read what you post?
"I would be suspiscious of anyone who is too sure of themselves in this matter and insists their point of view is the one and only, make up your own mind as far as you can,and keep questioning.
I am sure too that Jesus is The Way the Truth and the Life, and no one comes to the Father, except through Him."
There is no Jesus without the old testament. End of story, period. The OT is a bunch of stories. None of those miracle stories are true. What then does the NT fulfill? What you are saying is, I have read a book, I have fulfilled what that book said. Tell me, what is so miraculous about that? In that context anyone who can read something and make it come true is the son of god. It is absurd. You must believe all of it for some of it to be true.

My wounds opened up badly today
by Maddie inthe past three weeks having been so stressful and very sad.
my ex husband died after being in hospital for just over a week in intensive care.. i was just 18 and he was 21 when we first met and after a whirlwind romance we married 6 months later and have two sons together who are now adults.
although our marriage ended after 25 years and i remarried 7 years ago, he was my first love and i knew him for most of my life.

The only members of my family to show at my Mom's funeral were the non JW members. This was in a KH mind you. As for the other witnesses they were friendly, sat my entire worldly family on the front row and invited us back to the PO house for food etc. What they are doing is on their own. They both need a slap in the face.
Sorry for your pain and your loss.

What does nicotine feel like?
by Elsewhere ini have never smoked or used any tobacco products aside from puffing on a cigar a few times (maybe 5 times in my life).
even with the few cigar experiences (which i did not enjoy much) i never noticed any real "feeling" from the tobacco.
what is it supposed to feel like?

LOL, the one cigarette, permanent change is simply a link. It opens the neuron receptor to nicotine within the brain.

Armageddon "WILL" be Here Before 2014!
by african GB Member ini met a jw this past saturday, he was doing street witnessing, he told me that the end was coming.
i asked him when that is going to happen, and he told me that 2014 will be 100 years since satan was dismissed from heaven.
he told me that it would'nt make sense for god to let more than 100 years "pass before ending this world".. .

now if JW's say "no one knows neither the day nor the hour, but the father", and yet go ahead and make predictions about the end, are they deliberately misleading people or are they trying to 'save' them?
It's called lying.
