My wife just told me to move out...
by nolongerconfused inbecause of "religious" differences, she now wants me to move out and "separate"...i said what biblical grounds does she have for her request?.
she couldnt respond...she said she'd rather be beaten up by me than have an "apostate" in the house.... this org definitely encourages conditional love.... i don't know what to do...by the way, we dont have children.

ChiChi89...first of all, welcome!
The things you are feeling are by design. The disfellowshipping process is meant to make you feel inadequate, unloved and evil. Once you realize that this is a high control mechanism used by the WTS to "keep people in line", it will allow you to transition through it.
I am getting the feeling you are in your early 20's...this can be a very vulnerable time as we tend to be very sensitive to what others think of us. I was fortunate that I was in my 40's when I was DF'ed, and didn't really care what other people thought. I think if you see friends and family as prisoners of the WTS, you will be better able to work through your feelings. Do not let them make you feel less a person...if you isolate yourself from "wordly" friends, this will be difficult since you will have no other point of reference.
The one thing I haven't seen is whether you are looking to be reinstated...the answer to that question will have much to do with your "recovery". If you intend to go back, then you will have to play their game...just view it as a game. If you are not going back, then you need to find new friends, interests and gain new experiences. Trust me when I say, things will get better for you with each passing month.
I wish you the very best in your journey...

1. Played Hearts with Woody Harrelson while sitting on the floor of a Delta plane on the way to LA.
2. Was childhood pals with Jay North (Dennis the Menace), Angela Cartwright (Lost in Space and Make Room for Daddy) and Robert Shields (Shields and Yarnell).
3. Have traveled to over 75 countries...boated the length of the Amazon, fished in Christmas Island, took the train to Machu Picchu, sailed the Corinth Canal and so much more.
I have had a blessed life...and all this despite having been in the Borg for 40 years!

Welcome to the Board Comatose...you will find it an interesting and helpful place to share your new feelings/fears/questions.
When you first start to accept that certain things don't sit right regarding the JW's, it can be a very disorienting and disturbing set of emotions and feelings. Doubts can be troubling at first, but ultimately liberating. If you haven't read it yet, I'd recommend getting a copy of Crisis of Conscience by Ray Franz...it helps clarify many questions in a balanced and kind way. Keep reading the posts on the Board...you will se a wide range of people in various stages of their journey regarding the WTS. Some are still in while others have left. You will see everything from ex-JW's who became Evangelicals to embracing Atheism. Whatever path you choose, you can learn from the experiences of those who proceed you.
Good luck as you travel the path of real truth!

Necessary family business
by stillin inthat seems almost redundant to me.
isn't all family business important and necessary?
having a meal with your grown, disfellowshipped child seems to me necessary part of having raised a decent, family-values sort of child.
-

"Necessary family business" means, "when financial or physical help is needed from an apostate, then it is ok to talk and associate"...as long as it means the congregation or "brothers" don't have to step up and help the affected congregation member. Hypocites!!

The "Pop-In"
by Mr. Falcon inso last night the wife is working, the kids are getting ready for bed and i'm watching futurama.
doorbell rings.
now it's dark, snowing and i live on a back road, so it's very odd to have a visitor.

Mr. Falcon...I was heavily used as well, but the "love" ended very quickly after I started to become a marginal publisher. Then the wife and I started to have problems, and the march to the JC commenced. I am obviously not worth even a visit by the elders (must be my unrepentant attitude!)...oh well, I guess I will have to live with the peace and quiet!

Christian questions to ask current JWs
by Christ Alone inhere are some questions that i thought would be interesting to ask a jw if they were open to a free and open discussion.
this assumes a christian worldview that the bible is the word of god.
if you have any others, please post them!

Give me good honest reasons why you will ..............
by Phizzy inattend the memorial this year..

Not going...and my family has given up "inviting" me...have only gone once since I left, and that was because my wife wanted to see what it was all about. After the Memorial, she said it was the most joyless, unfriendly and stiff church service she had ever attended...her comment was that she "felt like she just attended a tax seminar"!!
