What about your vow to Jehovah?

did you get baptized without being dedicated?.

why did you allow men to come between you and jehovah?.

why were you serving jehovah at all?

Watcher...why would you say the Abraham led to the Christians, who then led to the JW's? I thought JW's were the only true Christians? In your line of reasoning, JW's would not be worshiping like the 1st Century Christians, since early Christians gathered "annointed" while JW's gather "great crowd". Would you please provide scriptural back up for that staement?

If JW's are different from their 1st Century brethren, why do they refer to themselves as the only "true Christians"?

so given the amount of focus on things that we can be angry or upset about, or how we have been wronged or abused.... i thought it was time for a bit of a change.. how about sharing some fun experiences?!!

i promised, in my opening post the other day, that i would share some that have happened over the years.

We used to have a wonderful, but crazy Elder who also was a Pioneer. When I would go out in FS, he actually made it tolerable. Our territory was high density apartments, so if someone was rude at the door, the Elder would take their doormat and fling it down the hallway! Interesting response, but it kept me entertained! LOL

the wt says yes.

i looked it up a few weeks ago and they said "we can be sure he used his fathers name".

for me the argument is more just interesting from a biblical and academic stand point.

QC...I am surprised they never changed the NWT rendering of that scripture to Jehovah instead of Father.

I always found it interesting that in Matthew 6:9-13, Jesus said, "you must pray, then, this way: Our Father in the Heavens, let your name be sanctified..." If we were to use HIS name, wouldn't he have said, "Jehovah in Heaven, let your name be sanctified..."? I always wondered about this...

How will the WT spin China???

i read an article this morning on how china is quickly reaching even footing with the united states in all aspects; military, economic etc.

the article continued saying how it was imperative that the united states recognize that it would be forced to behave accordingly or risk ddestabilizing the world.

another interesting statement was made that sooner rather than later the u.s. would become the 2nd largest economy falling behind china.

Freeof1914 and 5go, just curious...what are you basing your comment that the USA isn't #1 any longer?...the numbers don't appear to validate that.

USA GDP, $16 Trillion vs. China at $9 Trillion (Fortune)

According to military.com, USA Navy and Air Force #1, China's Navy and Air Force #3 (Russia is #2); USA Army #2, China Army #1 (Russia has the largest military reserve)

China has emerged as a Superpower, but it still lags behind the USA and Russia militarily and the USA economically. Things can certainly change quickly, but the USA GDP is projected to grow and remain the largest through 2025 according to Fortune. Military superiority is typically won in the air and at sea, so the edge goes to the USA.

I doubt we will see China hit #1 in my lifetime, so WT interpretation is safe for a while. If it were to happen, they will come up with an "over-lapping World Power" explanation!

who of you rolled your eyes when brother never ending prayers was called up to give the closing prayer?.

who of you then proceeded to tap your feet, fidget loudly or start doing balancing acts off the back of the chair in front of you while waiting for it to end?.

I agree with Blondie...Freddy's prayers were as long as his talks...and just as rambling and incoherent!
