an article published by the bbc, sparks some controversy about dying or near death experiences.. the article goes on to state that individuals who were clinically dead were brought back to life.

individuals who past on to the "afterlife" claimed: "it was beautiful, one of the most wonderful.

i was just reading the thread about barbara anderson and perhaps some big news she will publish about the wts.

i agree with those who say that anything barbara has scandalous about the early history of the witnesses, ie: russel or rutherford times, will have zero impact.

that whole era is pretty much dismissed by all witnesses i know.

I believe that everything that needs to be known will be revealed. I can remember the last district assembly and the old anointed bro said, brothers you may hear of things against the organization but don't believe them they are all lies. This was just after the example of a brother typing away on the net, and looking at so called apostate sites. He said they the apostates are all bitter and jealous of our spirituality. This was before I had ever heard about all this and what really went on with the abuse cases and the UN, then I found out about all the phoney dates and prophecies, thats bad enough what more do they need.

Just before being baptized we were asked to go with an elder, it was my turn, and I remember the house holder, was educated and had degrees, could see a diploma on the wall. I started from Gen 3:15 and went to the the Nephlim the tower of Babel the Flood, Job, Jonah and just about every other prophet I could think of, why the need for a ransom to Jesus teachings of the resurection and kingdom hope right through to Revelations, BTG wild beast 144,000 the whole lot and ended with Rev 21: 3,4 without a breath, the housholder was stunned and said thankyou I'm not interested, and the elder sighed a relief that I had stopped and said she is very zealous. its true, how embarrasment.

we either joyfully or sadly recall past christmas holidays.

as i recall, they were controversial in our family even before i was born.. im going to go back a couple of generations in my story to give you a bit of background.

i joined this forum on 1may2007 with a promise that i would tell more about myself as time went on.

well, here goes.. i was born and raised in the black belt of alabama in wilcox county.

it is supposedly called the black belt due to the color of the soil, but i have a strong suspicion it is also due to the fact that there is such a heavy concentration of black people in the dozen or more counties that make up the black belt.. my parents were sharecroppers which was simply a form of whitewashed slavery.

Do you think the society will abandon 1914?

it seems to me that they're slowly dismantling the date theology that ties the end times to this period in history.

first, they updated the generation teaching to mean a figurative generation, thus removing the possibility in the near future when all who were alive in 1914 are dead.

then, they abandoned 1935 so the annointed will never die off, and prove their belief that the annointed will see armageddon wrong.

this date is suppose to be when Christ began to reign and cleaned out the heavens inspected the bible group and Russel and said you good people you, I give you permission to be the FDS and provide food at the proper time.

So they would have to admit that they were not FDS, and Christs presence since 1914. Cant see that ever, ever happening.

should be held accountable for shunning, but, in reading it, a thought flashed across my little brain.

he pointed out that apostates that picket conventions are usually the worst kind of "apostates" they usually seem angry and uneducated.

its a good plan. make us all look like crazy dogs, then, when you go to talk to someone, those images are stired into their head. i wouldn't put it past them. ahhh, i love conspiracey theory. lol

I cant believe they would want to worry about doing this, I have only seen a few apostates handing out leaflets, that was years ago and weather they are agressive or uni like makes no difference to the average witness, they shun them all. Those that carry on like a nerd, only make those that dont more appealing and intriguing.

in most prayers we hear at the meeting we hear the brother asking jehovah to direct the fds.. notice who the insight book says the faithful and discreet slave is,.

This is what is probably scaring them more than anything and this is what I think is behind the upcoming Kool-aid version of the WT. I really believe they see those still in it as the ones that are going to have to support their crap, because the internet is going to expose them for the sham they are and any intelligent person will research them before being sucked in, so new membership will dwindle down to nothing (among people with $$ to donate anyway).

This time next year, they will be studying the WT and learning how to plan financially to help support Jehovah's final great work. How to will your estate, how to contribute not only your hard earned money, but your stocks and bonds, how to budget so you can make sure Jehovah's organization is receiving a portion, etc. etc. ad nauseum.

I think you are on to something here, I have noticed that they are not discouraging having babies like they use to either, so any increase will come from the born in the truths who have been brainwashed from birth, and some migrants, and of those many just study to help them with english, happens all the time. As I have said in another thread we now have three contibution box's in the hall, extra one for KH building, some have complained about it.

you have the captive audience of all the witlesses that you have associated with and loved in the past (including family members) but now shun you, for 5 minutes.. you most chose one and only one topic to proved that their religion is false and not based on love.. 1. who would you pick to be part of this audience?.
