Did Anybody Besides Me CHOOSE Not to Respond??
by journey-on ini saw danny haszard's video before it was removed.
did anybody besides me choose not to post an opinion to.
the many threads about it, especially those that got a chance to view it?.

Journeyon
I watched the video and have been following the comments but haven't commented myself - I feel quite torn actually because I like Danny and admire his dedication to helping people break free. He has spent a lot of time and resources on the xjw initiative. I am appalled at the incomprehensible mindless negligence of the WTS in sending those 2 brothers to knock on his door. But on the other hand I don't like or agree with what Danny did.
I feel very sad that it has come to this.

fader's wife expresses 1st doubts....
by sweet pea intalking to a friend (ex-elder) today whose wife was (is) a close friend of mine .
she's still a jdub but won't talk to me now i'm df'd (apparently it hit her very hard when we left) and so she busied herself with ministry and meetings in search of comfort and affirmation of her faith.
this didn't work for her and she came out with an unexpected question... .

sweeptpea - I took refuge in what the bible says about Jesus Christ and grace. That provided me with a safe haven for a while and bought me time to enable me to adjust to the fact that we don't need an organisation.

My meeting with the elders.. I TOTALLY WIMPED OUT
by AWAKE&WATCHING ini agreed to speak to 2 elders from the congregation that i was in from when i started my bible study in 1979 to when i disassociated myself in 1990. i was in the same congregation when i got re-instated in 2001 until i got married and moved to another congregation (30 miles away) a year later.
when i left my husband in aug. of this year i had already quit going to meetings for about 4 months.
i moved back to the same town i lived in before, of course never going to the hall.. i talked to them because i wanted closure for myself and my best friend and also my husband, both of them thought if i would just have the meeting with the elders that i would be re-adjusted.

A&W
I got there and realized that nothing I could say would get through so I said almost nothing.
It seems to me that you were very dignified and realistic.

Hortensia. I send love and my thoughts out to you at this time of loss.
by Sparkplug ini saw this earlier.. i'm so sorry - it must be painful for two people who love each other to have to part this way - one goes through the door alone and the other stays behind alone.
all the more because my wonderful nephew was killed in an auto accident today, a young man with three children.
death is so cruel.. and in the wake of such terrible news today, i did not miss what you had said, but rather blocked it out for a moment.

oompa - sorry you are going through this.
A couple of strategies that may help
Imagine your children are in the same place that you are now - what would you say to them. What if they, through circumstances they couldn't avoid reached the point you have in the future - how would you help them from your own experience.
Another strategy is to imagine you have died already - but you are still here but with a new beginning.
Also I agree with the others and your doctor - go to the emmergency room.

Wet Season Is Starting Up!

I love watching storms too - from a safe distance. My worst one ever was when we were on holiday at the beginning of their storm season - lightening was striking just a few feet away yet the locals were were on the beach taking cover by the trees, definitely not terrified like us.

As a Parent Out of the Witnesses, Are We Helping Our Kids Education ?
by flipper inchecked my other threads and noticed i had not covered this in reference to our kids, thought it was important.
so, how are all you parents doing ?
do any of you have children, in their early 20's who are pursuing their education, and are they doing well ?

When my son decided to stay on at school after he turned 16 there was so much criticism from the elders - Why isn't he thinking of pioneering? Does this mean he is planning on going to university? they were shocked. He was torn. Finally he decided to stay on but promised to auxillary pioneer during the holidays.
I reallly wanted to allow him the option of going to university. But after he completing his A levels at 18 he pioneered then went to Bethel for 5 years, got married, now has a baby and is finally completing his degree. He is still a loyal dub, an MS, juggling work and study. He finds himself forced to do his degree to find suitable work. He has alway had a recurring problem with eczema on his hands so window cleaning and other cleaning was impossible.
I have recently gone back to further education and am enjoying it immensely.
