  i've been reading threads off and on for about a year now so i feel almost like i know some of you.

  i just thought i would take the opportunity to introduce myself to the board.

  it's very exciting to join up and become one of you.

  A common American idiom is ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT. This idiom reminds us that patience will be rewarded, and will help you achieve your goals.

  LIFE IS HARD BY THE YARD , BUT BY THE INCH LIFE'S A CINCH is a saying used in America to encourage one to keep going in difficult times. Problems can be overwhelming if you try to solve all of the issues at once. A problem is more manageable if you conquer it one piece at a time.

  Both these idioms show that time and patience are essential elements to recovery as well as baby steps, one step at a time means

  greater understanding and way less frustration !

  Welcome AGT,

  Like others on this board I lurked for a good 5 years, off and on... so the term newie can be misleading because

  it only has reference to posting beginnings. I think shy and caution may be interchangeable words in most cases.

  Your caution simply means you like to think things through.. which is a positive attribute in my estimation !

  You are bound to have doubts....feel frustration.. even anger.. it's part of the healing game ! So just hold

  on tight and enjoy the ride !

  Again a very touching post, I believe because you are honest and forthright with your inner self

  it promotes healing. How long does it take to completely heal ? I've heard a figure of 1 year

  recovery time, for every five years of full indoctrination . ... so 25 years = 5 recovery,10 years = 2 yrs.

  I think other factors also enter, those who left of their own accord rather than DF'd should find it

  easier.. it was their choice . Also those that actually had life before , were not born-ins , have

  a frame work to fall back on . The other thing is that our 5 step grieving process is delayed

  if we are waiting for loves ones . One thought I've learned is what they call "vertical living"....

  living in the present moment not "horizontal living " looking back at out life or pressing

  too hard into the future, dealing with now, enjoying now ! Like what is printed on many

  maps ...you are here !

  this afternoon's segment of npr's this i believe reminds us of the liberating power of forgiveness.

  i heard it on the drive home and wanted to share it here with you.

  Mr Majestic,

  Most all these national holidays would rather mark "unhappy England day ".... because these celebrations mark independence

  from "Mother England " ... India, Australia, USA and to a much lesser degree however Canada . I am grateful daily to England

  for our English language and heritage ... especially because I am of English decent anyway !

  .... words that others have used but bear repeating........ articulate....respectful.. no bitterness.. no bashing ...

  but most clearly makes its points .

  so...... if jehovah is omnipotent, then there is nothing he can't do and nothing he doesn't know.. and, according to jws (as well as most other religions), god is love.

  therefore he had to have known, even before creating all of creation, what would happen.

  Does a 3 year old have the reasoning power of a 15 year old ? Now that you're 35 does the logic of 15 year old

  seem wise to you ? I am 55 do I understand more than when I was a 35 year old ? Is there no farther wisdom

  I can gain by 65 ? Has my learning stopped ? Ask the question ...how long has God been around

  before I was even born ? Now is there any more questions ? The infinite is incapable of defining the finite.

  Having a limit; limited in quantity, degree, or capacity; bounded; -- opposed to infinite; as, finite number; finite existence; a finite being; a finite mind; finite duration (definition of finite)
