Scriptural Grounds for divorce.....

i was watching a dumb show with my dear wife.

in the program a wife tried unsuccessfully to kill her husband.

i remarked to my wife "if you ever did that i would divorce you!

No spiritual law exists that “demands you stay in your loveless marriage.” But what did Jesus Christ say about marriage, divorce, and remarriage?

The Lord said this: “And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality [i.e., fornication], and marries another, commits adultery” (Matt. 19:9, ESV ).

Some understand 1 Corinthians 7:15 as another “exception,” allowing remarriage if an unbelieving spouse divorces a believer. However, the context does not mention remarriage, but only says a believer is not bound to continue a marriage if an unbelieving spouse wants to leave

There are only scriptural grounds for remarriage.....

Exodus 20:17 "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that [is] thy neighbour's."

#10 IS VERY COMPREHENSIVE... it gets at the root of why we do things!

It becomes a "catch all" at the end of this awesome law. Other philosophies deal with basic don'ts. But NONE of them list this one!

WHAT IS COVETING? = Desire? (NO) There is a place for desire in our life
Without proper desire, we would not accomplish much: Everything we call success stems from desire!

Desire causes: capitalism, work, eat, drink, social etiquette

I Corinthians 9:10 "Or saith he [it] altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, [this] is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope."

Another practical word for coveting is GREED = Money, sex, power, praise, approval, status, authority

It is most important to get the intented meaning of Greek or Latin words for such as things coveting or hating or fearing

There’s the break-down between six hateful things and seven detestable things. Why did Solomon do that? Why not just seven things that God hates? Look at the seventh – a person who stirs up dissension in the community. we gather folks around us to complain to and convince ..I think this is good food for thought .....for us all to reflect upon in our own minds & lives

By observing this principle , we avoid what otherwise becomes a tyranny of the ignorant conscience. We call that tyranny "legalism". The very thing that characterises legalism, is that it makes people think they are committing sins when they have not.

I'm talking about Organized Crime and Evil sovereigns. People who traffic drugs and human souls. How can they live with a good conscience?

I MHO ... A person would have to keep their mind busy being a workaholic, busyaholic or alcoholic or medicated to cope and live with yourself.

This is why you often see stories on TV where someone was in a life threating accident , lying in bed for months

and at that time actually have time to think about their life course..... a forced transformation has occured ! plus time

otherwise it must be self justification "survival of the fittest" or "I'm here for a good time not a long time"

i have sometimes heard people saying it's a fallos-symbol, but is there a valid background for this?.

some of you were really nice.

some of you were really mean to me, and at this point in my life i can't handle such meanness.

i thought this would be my one place to truly express my feelings without too much mocking or insults from people who i thought were nicer, but i was wrong.
