, since I don't BELIEVE in God(s). Did you forget: I'm an ATHEIST?
I ask what are your emotions about the concept of God were.. not for God.... I still beleive there are strong emotions there or you wouldn't be so passionate about putting forth your views so extensively
I "feel" about Jehovah like the average JW thinks and feels about a deity they've never heard of, and don't believe in, eg Kami-no-Kaze. How do you "feel" about the Japanese Shintoist's member of the Pantheon, the "god of the wind"?
I feel and think about Jehovah as you likely feel and think about Kami-no-Kaze, or any of the other MILLIONS of Gods that men have created as a product of their imaginations, and handed down as a cultural tradition.

Jehovah, the God portrayed in the Bible, is so logically inconsistent and contradictory, it's a pretty good thing he DOESN'T exist!
Notice the arguement most often comes down to the morally of God...how we perceive or judge his actions as recorded in the Bible
(1)He regretted the decision to CREATE mankind, so He's not very prescient (able to foresee future events), is He?
(2) He fortold their fate in Genesis 2:17. He said that if they made the choice to eat from the tree of knowledge they would die. He regretted the choice made by humanity because HE was the originator of their free will. God was accepting ultimate responsibility for the actions of humanity. Yet, even despite all of that he still gave Noah, a wicked man, another chance. The God of the Torah is a hero.
Example above .....Whose perception is right in these two opposing ideas 1or 2 ? It's about word meanings and perceived intent & purpose
Is it anger at God or disappointment within ourselves that our one time expectations ( maybe implanted by others ) have failed ?

from a post earlier today ... no credit to me... only to inform you all
no matter how many times i've tried, i just couldn't get through the whole thing.
you know, there were always those reminders to read the bible, have a personal study, go out in service, and.... the other two of the five things we were supposed to do i already forgot.
so, i constantly felt guilty that i just had no interest.
The books of the Bible are primarily divided by the type of literature.
For example, Genesis through Esther are primarily historical
Job through Song of Solomon are poetry
Isaiah through Malachi are prophecy.
Similarly, Matthew through Acts are historical
Romans through Jude are letters to churches or individuals
Revelation is prophecy.
The books within the Bible are in basic chronological order. For example, Isaiah's prophecies occurred before Jeremiah's prophesies.
I have never read the Bible cover to cover because I'm lazy and it is not in chronological order anyway The topical or subject matter method therefore works best , because you can't follow along like a single story book anyway
i recently broke up with my girlfriend of four years.. she is 40 years old, with health problems, financial problems, little family/friend support, and facing an uncertain future.
