Hope you had a great time stuck. I have not been online much but we are very excited about the Royal Commission into Child Abuse and the JW's are hitting the media.
I hope it gathers speed.

so ofs was at the wt this morning, and on par.
14 the question was, "what trust can a faithful christian whose relative is disfellowshipped have?".
after awhile when no one else raised their hands ofs did, and was called on.. ofs commented, "one of jw can have the trust that god will lovingly give them the ability to uphold the disfellowshipping arrangement by totally shunning family members.".
so at the assembly to day that nitwit lett gave a talk....i noticed right away he had a pinky ring.
i asked my wife what was the purpose of the pinky ring?
and then asked....would jesus wear a pinky?
well said Crazyguy that is the only thing keeping us sane while still stuck in this thing
omg...what a waste of a day.....my wife is in full cult mode.
we had one chair seperating us in the bleachers.
we did not talk on the way to and on the way from.
Hey there, if you want to stop going insane, look up the scriptures they show and look at them in context, even follow the cross references.
The scriptures that they are twisting, which are many are a good source to ask your wife - "hey check this out".... "look what I found"...."what do you think this means"...maybe it will start the little doubts.
We have found with our family when you attack the GB you get nowhere but asking bible questions in a non-confrontational manner gets further.
Not sure if that helps, I can understand how you feel. My prayers are with you.
dear members,.
i am an investigative journalist with the australian public broadcaster, the abc.
we are currently gathering information from members of the jehovah's witnesses who experienced sexual abuse as children and adolescents in australia.
Hi Joel
Unfortunately there are thousands (my estimate) of victims that will never speak about this or assign blame to the failure of the WT policies - because they are afraid to be disfellowshipped.
I myself am an active Witness elder in Australia and could not risk being cutoff by the religion, family and friends by appearing on camera to talk about their policies that protect predators (that I don't agree with). When I am free from this cult, I would happily talk but it is a long journey out of here.
I have a relative and good friend that have been abused within the congregation, and even though I gently try to ask about whether the elders knew their attacker was a pedophile before their attack - they don't know or want to know.
The other sad thing is that a huge majority of witnesses who need to see your expose will not even look at the program because it is talking against the "men appointed by Jesus" who put these policies together.
I have been hoping this would hit Australia - so please please please keep going with it.
Another story is the human rights violation many on this forum are victims of. The WT claim people are free to leave, they claim that shunning does not happen but there are countless articles that advise parents not to speak to their children who have been disfellowshipped.
I myself have a relative who avoids me like the plague because I got into a Bible discussion with them and asks questions about scriptures that were contrary to what the WT preaches.
Many on this forum attend the meetings and are really like hostages held against their will because they don't want to be cut off.
There are many references to the WT teaching on the forum but here are some interesting articles:

would it really affect them?
how would it affect volunteers at any construction project since that work would now be taxable.
any materials they buy would be taxable.
It would affect their property strategy. At the moment because a hall is built by unpaid volunteers the tax laws in the US allows them to buy and sell properties and not pay a scrap of tax. I think it is similar in Australia and UK.
All of their running costs would still be an expense, but I believe a lot of their expenditure is capital - and we all know they donate nothing to help poor countries - so they would lose some money for sure.
Then all of a sudden we will be meeting back in homes, no need for Kingdom Halls as we would be under attack.
if you could use a good laugh please have a look at page 7 of the july 2015 awake.
my wife leaves the latest issues on my pillow when she gets back from her meetings.
i often scan through them looking for nonsense.
we know the wt interpretation of matt 25:40 is support of the anointed.
since most of us here are no longer in that situation, what, if any forms of charity are you involved in?
sorry for the awkward framing of the question, it's not meant to imply atheists, or non-christians are not charitable!
Thanks for your post. As we were awakening we noticed right through the greek scriptures it refers to helping the poor. Even when Jesus appointed Paul to do the preaching work he said "only don't forget the poor". Then we realized that the Borg gives nothing to anyone. Even the tele-evangelists whom they run down give millions to charity.
We realized we don't contribute at all to anything. So we stopped donating and now are supporting some charities, but also give to any genuine charity who knocks on our door also.
if you get in an accident you will not be shunned by everyone in your family.
How stupid. David Splane used the illustration in Oz once that if they can get a job at Maccas they can get baptized.
Uhh hello - I don't think working at MacDonalds as a 14 year old is a major lifelong decision.
Maybe when they get a license they can get married, start a family, move into their own house?

story just broke in uk!!!!
a woman who claimed jehovah's witness elders failed to protect her from sex abuse carried out by a convicted paedophile has won a six-figure payout.
