The problem with the elders is that they think 3 idiots (i.e. elders) is not only equal to one congregation but greater than one congregation. It always amazes me how contrite the elders are and how gullible the cong is, they the cong stand ready to swallow anthing they are told and no one giving any thought to just what actually may be being said in biblical verse.

So sorry that, that had to happen to you. But i do understand your feeling on this control business. I am having same type of problem with my spouse. Came home from the hall today and spouse starts in "why didn't you clap when the brother got done with his talk," my answer was "I don't just clap because someone gives a talk I only clap at those talks I really aprreciate and that are done well." This started another fight with the spouse and the spouse is trying to be very controlling of how I conduct myself at their supposed spiritual meetings. That even means the book regurge, the sales meeting, and public talk. I think that, that just about did it as I told spouse I don't believe that I will be attending any more meetings for awhile as my attendance seems to aggravate you and you are constantly looking for something to negativitely comment about and I am very very tired of it so it will be better for us if I don't attend said meeting for awhile if ever again. Now spouse isn't talking, whopee!!!! and of course has run off to the casino (yes I said the casino to salve their hurt feelings). Talk about you average hyprocrite!!! I don't care if the spouse goes to the casino once in awhile as that is a form of recreation but can you believe the b.s. I have to go through with them???

It also makes me sick to see "some" pioneers, like sister some who attributes all good things to Jehovah, but does the saying when something bad happens that he only protects us spiritually. I got so tired of that b.s. that when she again attrributed our helping to Jehovah, I had to tell her no sister some it was us me and my wife who helped you Jehovah had nothing to do with it. Your are a good friend and we trust you and wanted to help you, but i for one am sick and tired of you attributing the good things we do for you to Jehovah. No its not him its us for crist sakes. Needless to say she was somewhat taken back, then smiled and said it was Jehovah who motivated us. Well that was it the next time she needed help I told her to pray to Jehovah because i sure as hell wasn't going to help and we didn't. She seemed surprised when no help was forthcoming. Live and Learn I told her.

Just about anything not in agreement with the status quo. i.e. Not believeing that God chose those fools in crooklyn to be his "faithful and undiscreet slave," or 1914 didn't herald Christ's coming unseen.Or belief that the R&F witnesses arern't the Great Criowd. When this was brought up last night as the frarsical beek regurgation, that the only great crowd is those that will (will being the key word) come out of the great tribulation. that sure illicited some gawking and jaw dropping, I mean how dare I point out the obvious. Also that the supposed great crowd of 1935 were mostly all dead except those that were you children sooooo???

Bethel Tour-long sorry
by samiam2b ini'm new as a member but have watched the site for a while.
one of my kids, who lives in another part of the country, came for a summer visit from another state and asked to go on a bethel tour.
she lives with her jw mother and is surrounded by jws and they even baptized her recently.

The Bethel tour I went on was so unimpressive. I have seen better organizations and accomodations on a Air Force Base. The tour for my spouse was enjoyable for some reason, but i hated it and was so happy when we left. The accomodations for lunch were nothing less than nonsense, the food was bad and not much of it and they had to eat it in such a hurry too. I won't ever waste my time again going to one of those dens or pedophilia protectors.

Sometimes it is worth it to some, but to others it isn't worth all the hassle to stay in and put up with their mind numbing b.s., I would turn the table on them and tell them how do "I" know it isn't you that's doing it and trying to hurt people's reputation and family relationships. Just put in on one of them and be polite but firm about it. Also, act indignant, that may help especially if you turn the tables on one of them and start to bring out things about them (make em up if you have too) and say I didn't realize you were so _______ fill inthe blanks yourself you should know them better than anyone else they are questioning at the time they are seeing you.
