What would you say to someone who.......

I personally am not ready to have this discussion now....but if I was....perhaps I'd ask exactly what the term 'adapt' means.

Next step would be to compare the persons 'personal' perception of 'adapt' to a 'dictionary' definition

When we both agreed on what the term means within the context of the discussion at hand......hmmmmm......Well then we could deal with the FACTS

Get a piece of paper...Put a line down the middle...with the facts

about both organizations.

This is probably a conversation I would have on paper.

Has any one else gone through chemo would like to compare notes

i'm going through chemo right now , just had no.

3 of 4 treatments, i would like to talk to others who have or know someone who has.. had started to lose hair on day 15, mostly day 3,4,and 5 after treatments i ache like a bad case of flu and have to stay in bed don't even feel much like tv.

the meds keep away the neasua, very fatigued.. i know there are others that have it alot worse then me, so i'm not complaining just want to know if anyone else would like to talk about it..

Re the hair....kinda hot maybe for wigs....there are some cool summer straw hats around....I love wearing them but usually find them too hot because of my hair...BUT....they might be just the thing for you at this time. They are so flattering .

Have you googled chemo nausea...might be some natural remedies out there....when is the chemo over

I remember my preggie nausea....that was a 3 to 4 month stint...how much longer for you?

Hi, recently widowed need conversation

i'm recently widowed, 7mos, suddenly lost husband from heart attack, married 29yrs, have been inactive for around 5yrs and don't plan on going back to jw.. we were very close and i miss the daily interaction and conversation.

my daughter, 25, lives with me but it's not the same.

is there anyone els out there that would just like to chat,e-mail?

I too have been widowed but in my case for four years.

The first year we do the 'this time last year thing'

You are probably aware of the stages involved in the grief process

You may have gone thru them when you left the organization.

My youngest daughter is only 17...soooooo....that definitely affected how I respond to remarks that mention young girls.

I do feel uncomfortable somewhat about my reaction but I'm not sure 'where' my discomfort is coming from.

I think I will be more careful until I know myself better

Perhaps I should be concentrating on my own issues right now...until I am more confident about my ability to 'say the truth with love'

How many happy JW marriages do you know of?

just reading frequent flyer miles on the subject of feeling guilty for having a happy marriage with a non-jw.. in our congregation which i haven't attended for about a year, i can only think of two or three who seem to be happy.

of course, i don't know what happens behind closed doors, but i know of several who admit they are unhappy.

i wrote out a long list of couples who have divorced over the last 20 years--including three elders (one is on his second divorce).

The elder and his wife who give(gave??) me bible studies seem happy and in sync with each other. I've seen them hold hands...and they've been married for over 30 years.

New Here, My Personal Story

i have thought off and on about the jws for years.

my little sister brenda converted about 30 years ago and raised two sons in the truth as she called it.

one boy, mason, is still being raised as a jw (he is 15) and my other nephew, aaron, left the organization on his 18th birthday.

Johanna....welcome....I can relate.....I am a smoker...up until a week ago I felt that smoking and not understanding the 'blood' issue were the only things keeping me from baptism.

Looks like we've started on a journey of discovery but we've got company.

i always check blondie, bebu, alanf, farkel, onacruse, aguest (and probably others).

bc what they say has some gravity, some enlightenment, some knowledge, some insight.

r. f. wondered how many lurkers there are on the board.

i don't know the answer, but i will admit that i since a few years am one of them.

i read here almost every day.. like many others here i am an ex-jw, left the organisation about 25 years ago and never regretted it.. .

I want to believe I've found the answer to my question (in this site) re WHERE DO i GO NOW.......but.....caution nibbles at me....not a bad thing to be cautious.....time will tell....but if what has been happenning to me continues....it will be good.(eventually)

So ....Assuming that my perceptions of this 'new' truth 'are' correct I would like to say how much I appreciate the opportunity to 'share' with you...even when I havn't much to contribute but my gratitude.

Sad News Orangefatcat's husband died this morning.

this is one of the sadest days in my life, my beloved husband marco passed away this morning at 5:15 am.. it has been a dreadful day.

but my dear friend was with most of the day while we went togerther to make funeral arrangements.. that was really hard on me.

i have done nothing but cry and cry all day, i finally fell asleep a few hours ago while my friend diane was here and she let me sleep.

At first I was just going to offer simple condolances but then I read your last post and it was like reliving my husbands death....I cried as I'm sure so many others have as they read your beautifully detailed description. Thankyou for sharing so much ....getting to know him ...thru you... is something I count as a 'priviledge.'

My heart feels your pain....not 'all' of it tho...only you feel the complete pain....I wish I could give you a hug
