Let me get this straight, you're a single 46 year old male and a JW for 6 years? If you're in good standing, they will get a "sister" to catch you once they know you're thinking about leaving. Marriage is one of their answers to everything for single people.

If You Can Get Out Of The Jehovah's Witness Religion---DO IT!
by minimus ini realize some people feel they can't just leave the religion.
they have family, friends, position.. some elders mistakenly believe that they might be able to reform the cult from within.
the truth is, the religion is never really going to change.

Leaving was the best thing I've done in my entire life. Was it painful? Yes. Was it lonely at first? Yes. Did the religion haunt me for a year or so? Yes.
Now, I am so amazingly me and becoming more of who I was meant to be everyday.
I understand why teens and early adults might feel beholden to the religion but very grown adults....Leave and GET YOUR LIFE!!!

I was 36 when I started posting here. This weekend I celebrated my 50th birthday!
by nicolaou inand i mean celebrated!
it was a cracking barbecue party for around 40 good friends and neighbours as well as my 'never jw' cousins and one of my brothers and his family.. .
drank a bit too much, embarrassed my kids with some 'dad dancing' and laughed until 2 in the morning.

The witnesses are very excited about these videos. It's as if they believe they are the first to have this caliber of videos for children.

"New Light" discretely slipped in on the 2014 regional convention: Paradise in heaven.
by EdenOne in2014 regional convention:.
on friday, on the last speech of the morning, (the "key speech"), a bethel member slipped in some "new light" rather casually, without much fuss.
he mentioned the out-of-body experience of the apostle paul, in 2 corinthians 12:2-4, where he experienced being "caught up to the third heaven ... caught up to paradise and heard inexpressible words...".

It baffles me how "We used to understand..." is easily erased with "We now have an adjusted view..."
"We used to understand that rain came from the clouds. We now have an adjusted view, after considering 1 Kings 8:35 and having clarification on the heavens ability to close, we now know that rain comes from the moon."
They just nod along like they have just received the biggest insight ever. It's funny and yet very sad.

How Many Prayed Out Loud whilst they were at a restaurant?

Even when I was all in, I would excuse myself to go to restroom and say I would pray when I got back. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. Closer to my exit, I just looked around until they were done praying.
The married couple public prayer has always irritated me.
To be fair, other religious people (not just JWs) do this as well.

What are the consequences if a JW files for an unscriptural divorce?
by Daniel1555 inin january my wife separated from me, because she views me as an apostate (to make the story short).. at that time the elders explained to us, that the bible doesn't approve of such a separation.
i heard from my mother in law, that my wife finally wants to divorce.
(when i think of how my wife treated me the last year i actually want a divorce too).. now my question to you:.

Wasanelder Once,
I know how its supposed to happen according to their rules. All of it is subject to the congregation elders. They can follow the rules or bend them. My response is based on how I've seen it play out, more than once, when a spouse is accused of apostasy.

Not if it's based on apostasy and depending on her elder body she can remarry with little to no consequence.
