Very painful. This cult can really screw up your life. The good thing is that he is young enough to truly start all over again.

Went to read the article at the link in loosie's thread and then came back to post a reply and the thread was locked. Anyway, I thought it was hilarious. I couldn't imagine anyone actually wearing that shirt in public. Didn't see the point of the ex-diva t-shirt.

Have you considered having your mother bring them out to the car when you arrive to pick up your kids?

They state that all who are resurrected will be "as angels are".
Yes, they for sure said this because all of my friends started getting married after this was covered in a Watchtower lesson. I had several friends propose to me so that just in case we died we both would have had some nookie. I took a pass since I had just started college. It was the same for older adults, everyone just started getting married like crazy after that. Folks would just show up at the hall one day and be married. It was insane.

Widespread speculation you'll never see in print?
by Mickey mouse injws are very good at whipping up speculation without ever putting a word in print.
maybe they learned something from 1975.. what are some of the things you remember hearing that are not "official doctrine" but lots of jws believe it anyway?.
i've heard a lot of speculation that armageddon would either happen on nisan 14 or in october around the time they reckon the gentile times ended in 1914.. name some of the topics you've frequently heard unsanctioned speculation about.. .

Yeah, supposedly the end will come during the fall, most likely October, since this is when most prophetics event occur.
Also, the end was suppose to come in 2007 because in 2006 it was clearly mentioned in several talks at the pioneer assemblies and from what I hear the elders KM school as well that we will not have another year in this system. It really got everybody all excited.
The special campaign in 2006, I remember thinking that it was not all that special. However, other folks were thinking it was just the "sting" to false religion that would start the attack on JWs

who go ONLY to the memorial???
by oompa ini was planning on going to a meeting or two with my wife.......maybe one or two a month.....but if i do...... i still really do not want to ever go to another memorial......they have weirded me out for years and most of jw friends know that........but you know once you skip a memorial it is like you are marked for death already....i mean word gets around fast "omg...i just heard oompa did not go to the memorial!
so how is this gonna fly if i go to a couple of meetings a month, but skip the memorial?
and if was gonna try to appease my wife by going to some meetings.......should i just bite the bullet and go to the memorial........and then maybe only do the memorial?......i always thought that was sooo funny that we had a bunch of once a year jw's.........they loved coming and rejecting jesus every year..........oompa.

So true but if you are going to go to only one meeting, it should be the memorial.

Doesn't this quote ring a bell?
by WingCommander in"when our own thoughts are forbidden, when our questions are not allowed and our doubts are punished, when contacts and friendships outside of the organization are censored, we are being abused for an end that never justifies its means.
when our heart aches knowing we have made friendships and secret attachments that will be forever forbidden if we leave, we are in danger.
when we consider staying in a group because we cannot bear the loss, disappointment and sorrow our leaving will cause for ourselves and those we have come to love, we are in a cult.

This was me for very long time. The sorrow was physically painful. True words indeed.

Intended to add it to the reading list. Thanks for the reminder. Maybe you're too far "gone" to enjoy the book.
