Hi Chris
Welcome to the board!
I don't even have to ask why you are amused. As for others if they read their own replies surely they will see it too?

we're pleased to tell you that the watchtower victims memorial is back online.

Bringing it back to the top.
the question, "why are you here?
" is simple enough, and your answer may be straightforward.
however, when i asked that of myself, i find that my answer is pretty complicated.
I have to agree with Jurs. It helps being able to thrash things out with people who know where you are coming from.
I don't have time to read every post so I go for either updates on JW stuff or humour to lighten my day as I find laughter therapeutic.
I agree with Slayerlayer that things are getting a bit caustic. I don't suppose JW's lurking in here will find that suprising as they expect that sort of negativity from apostates so it's a shame some people have to be like that.
Personally I have found that there is a tendency for some posters to come across as superior and trash other posters comments. Thank goodness most times certain others jump in to defend and try and restore the battered confidence of the poster who wasn't intellectual enough or whatever to impress those who have appointed themselves as unofficial overseers of this forum.
What do you all think? A bit more positivity and respect for others wouldn't go amiss?

what if the witnesses do have all the answers?
what if the big a does come and we all have to answer the 'the man upstairs'?
what will your arguement be???
Well if they are right and the big A has happened I do not see much dialogue with God going on as I will be dead and being scoffed by vultures while the lovely true christian JW's stand around gloating and wishing I wasn't dead so they could say 'I told you so..'

Re; David Icke
A lot of the stuff I have read by this man is too mind-boggling to comprehend.
BUT some of it is frighteningly real and believable.
As for Icke being English he is only one of many individuals worldwide who research conspiracy theories and campaign for freedom of belief and speech. He also puts his life at risk year in year out for his cause.
On the subject of Icke alleging that we are being covertly ruled by a reptilian race he does state in one of his books that you could replace reptiles with the word DEMONS. Looking at the idea from this prospective is quite interesting. After all were we not taught as JW's that Satan and his demons are ruling this world? (I once read a book about a lady who was possessed by demons and described them as transforming themselves into very attractive human form then at other times extremely repulsive LIZARD-like creatures.)
His stuff on JW's and Mormons I have only seen briefly and don't know if I fully understand so until more evidence is unearthed...
Trouble is on this sort of stuff on Freemasonry etc it is virtually impossible to unearth real truth because it is so well protected and organised.
I kinda like David Icke's spooky stuff but it makes you feel very helpless and without hope. Your whole belief system is challenged and destroyed....a bit like when you realise your religion isn't the truth.

i am new here trying to figure my way around...... i would appreciate it if you could say which of these fits you..... 1. still a jw.
2. if you dont agree with the jw doctrines any longer do you belong to another religious organization now?
3. are still religious and have no religious affiliation.
I'm a 6
Ex-JW who now refuses to be pigeon-holed!
I think religion is a racket and just another reason mankind has devised to hate and seek to destroy eachother.
I believe in a God of creation but I don't believe the answers to questions such as 'Why are we here?' are found in a book written by men.
I believe in living a good life and am open-minded about what happens after death. I'd like to believe in an after-life of sorts.
More importantly I am still learning and absorbing information and open to ideas.

the first survey i asked how you were brought into the non-truth.
my next survey is along the same line, however what i would like to find out is on the average how many hours you spent in the field service and were you ever able to bring anyone into the non-truth via field service or via incidental witnessing.. and how long you were associated with the borg?.
thank you in advance for your input.
20years associated.
Only brought 1 person in who may or may not have stayed. Had studies that came in but can't say I brought them in. Thankfully.
60 hrs a month for about 2 or 3 years. Rest of the time about 15hrs apart from the final year when it trailed off to a couple a month. I wouldn't like to try and calculate an average from that.
