I've had 2 boyfriends separated for a few years. There was nothing going on with the wife anymore and no sign of reconciliation. The divorce process was just a very slow one in the country where i was living.
Even though i'm not the biggest fan of marriage, i still feel it's wrong to date someone who's married.
But hey i'm not trying to disrespect anyone. I'm only 22 years old and haven't lived enough to experience such things. I just know in the end a lot of people get hurt and feel bad about themselves.

If You Were Single, Would You Ever Date A Married or Separated Person?
by minimus inlately, i've seen more than a few unhappy couples go their own way and do their own thing.
one guy i know regularly dates women only on friday nights but comes home to his wife the rest of the time.
my impression is she doesn't want to know what he's doing------just as long as he comes home to her.. i know a state senator's wife who has 2 kids and she's miserable with her politician/lawyer husband but in public they look like the perfect couple.

How did you break away?
by zennin in7 months ago i came to a foreign country on a working holiday visa for, you know, a 'wonderful experience'- i had plans to pioneer and a kind of determination to use this time to prove to myself, and to jehovah, that i can be loyal to him no matter what.... have i failed?
i don't think so, but even as i type this i think it is too early for me to answer or even ask that question.. all i know is that during the past 7 months i have done more research and more deep thinking and meditation than i have done in my whole life.
i have met wonderful wonderful people- many of them witnesses who have helped me out immensely and shown me a lot of kindness, and many of them non-witnesses- just ordinary people with their own moral foundations and personal philosophies.

don't worry about those millions of people. Don't you know the good news is preached in 19836480 lands in 16598429 languages.
Ans also god is waiting for EVERYONE to be saved.
Good news, innit?
But on a serious note,
i was disfellowshipped but my best advice to you would be fade fade fade. Many here have done it, i'm sure they can give you great tips.
you had the strength within yourself to do research and challenge a belief system you had your whole life. Now you'll take steps to break away from its grip. And everyone will be here to support you!
welcome!!! -

What's better? To live a lie or tell your spouse the religion is lies?
by truthseeker ina close friend of mine who is still an active dub believes it is ok for a spouse to leave their partner if they found out that they did not believe the society had the truth.
in other words, if a loyal jw spouse found a copy of coc in their partner's possession, it's perfectly justified for that spouse to walk out on the marriage.
so i said to him, did jesus allow for divorce not only for fornication, but for possessing coc or simply no longer believing the society has the truth?

Were The Sisters Submissives or "Jezebels" In Your Hall?
by minimus inin my experiences, i saw many women that really took a back seat to anything a "brother" had to say.
i was always amazed as to how some sisters were sooooooooooooo submissive!
they really stood out from the "jezebel" types.. if you were a "sister", how were you treated and how did you respond?.

crap i just deleted my post!!*sighs*
the body of elders at my halls were so sexist. they disrespected the sisters all the time and had the worst view of opinionated sisters.
i can't say what one of them said about a woman he worked for cause it's too awful.
they're so stupid.
Some of them had smarter wives than them so they had to double the dissing. -

What did you not like about the paradise?
by reneeisorym ini have always loved it when the seasons changes.
i was always told that we would have temerate weather all of the time and the seasons wouldn't chage.
i always thought i would miss the changing leaves, budding flowers after it has been so cold, and the snow.

i'm with serotonin on this one......;who the heck would possibly want to live forever with ONLY jehovah's witnesses.
we would have all the time in the world to do everything and travel....and see what?? no more eiffel tower, no more egyptian pyramids, no more statue of liberty, no more sidney opera house,....
forests, desert, sea and mountain. while that's really nice i'd like to see some man made things. and since it's not exactly like it's doctors, engineers, architects and artists making up the organization...;how the hell would we even get there?? on foot?
if they only took enough time to think about it they would realize they really want to start living now. What a shame of a waste of life! i feel angry and sorry for my friennds who are still in giving the best years of their lives away to a FALSE ORGANIZATION! -

Funny things you used to believe
by 5thGeneration inone of my classics was because the bethel printing room was so clean then it must be jehovah's organization.. now i realize, of course, that most businesses keep their operations equally clean.. doh!.

i didn't know the elders lived large!!!
so glad i almost never gave contributions!!!
towards the end of my stay in the witnesses i thought the governments were going to turn on us and torture us because of our faith!
i was in such a heightened state of paranoia that i used to sweat buckets during the meetings and feel dizzy and sick. -

Mr. Flipper witnesses to Elder in Front of Store on Child Abuse Settlements
by flipper inhello folks .
as other posters have mentioned , i feel , too , that this is something that needs to be kept in the forefront of practicing jehovah's witnesses minds , as they will never hear about these settlements from their elders or governing body.
so , you folks know me well enough that i don't have a shy bone in my body , and if i see an opportunity i will take it.

I don't think it's silly at all bringing this up because it shows a major flaw in the system --the 2 witness rule....
which is damn rigid in these cases!
but when you sin by smoking or immorality there is no one person comes to you, then two , bla bla bla it's straight to the elders!
Bumble bee said he'll talk to his elder friends and they'll all ask themselves questions...;what i truly think is HE WOULDN'T DARE!
how many of you guys actually admitted you were doubting doctrine while still in and wanting to stay in (for all the wrong reasons)??
the furthest i ever went was saying " sometimes i WONDER if armageddon will really happen".....that was enough to have the brothers eyeballs popping out of their sockets in amazement. -
