Before you judge that mother, walk in her shoes a bit.
I said something nasty to my son when he thought it was funny to step on Mommy's heels to make her stumble. After telling him repeatedly to stop he kept it up. I am sure if anyone in the parking lot was listening they probably thought I was a terrible person too.
You overheard a snippet of her day.

Shunned again
by tak inmy son called me yesterday, first time in probably 6 weeks, because he lost his car keys, the car is in my name, so i had to get another set from the dealership.
anyways, it doesn't really matter what he called about, it was just in 6 weeks he only calls because he needs something, not a peep before that (very hurtful).
a brother drove him to my office and it was quittin time so i went outside with him and gave him the keys, i was hurt and didn't say much to him.

The beginning of mine has ASVF, A Single Violent Female, as my hubby so kindly pointed out. I hit him repeatedly for it.

Fireworks/Kids/Non licensed person...ok? or bad idea?
by FreedomFrog ini've been invited by a group of friends to join them at their house shooting off fireworks.
ok, first red flag is i know they are not licensed and the fireworks are illegal.
though, isn't it "illegal" the same as driving the car a bit over the speed limit?.

I was quite nervous the first time my adoptive family was going to set off fireworks. They were all excited and making plans and I was trying to figure out a way to remove my kids from the scene.
I was assured that Uncle Al knew what he was doing so I stuck around and kept my kids close.
Papa and uncle made sure everyone was well back and were very serious about safety. It turned out to be quite a thrill for my boys(8,5 and 3) and was lots of fun.
All in all, you can pick your kids up and leave if you feel it is unsafe. I had to relax my own preconcieved ideas in order to enjoy a new experience.

I was in one congregation where the little kids thought nothing of going through purses left unattended. Mostly they were after candy. I complained to a parent once when I caught her little darling munching my candies and was told to not be so petty and greedy. I shouldn't have brought the candy to the kingdom hall if I didnt have enough to share. Being young and new to the hall I dropped it but never left my purse unattended again.
My biggest pet peeve was this, some halls have a mothers room with a change table. Those of us with babies provided supplies and some time left spare diapers for emergencies. I always made sure to replace anything I used right away, usually leaving a few extra to be nice. Then someone new moves in and cleans us out. Wipes, diapers and even the changing pad disappears.
Nothing worse than your infant exploding all over and the diaper bag is empty and your emergency supplies are gone too. It just seems mean to me.

This is not a song but very tear inducing and worthy of watching.
"Grace is Gone" with John Cusack.
Wonderful movie!

Anyone else here think we can't wait for her to get knocked up and watch all her plans and schedules go right out the window. all so we can laugh and point?
yes it seems a bit cruel, but the spawn of your uterus will take one look at how you want to do it and puke on it.

Is Copper theft on the rise in your area ??
by Casper init has become unreal in our small hick town.
people are ripping out water lines in new homes before they are even finished, contractors are losing their minds.... our house has a walk out basement, garage combo with two huge windows.
all our water lines are copper and visible thru the windows... we're afraid we'll come home one day and they'll all be gone.... air conditioners have become a prime target.

Yes, it is a huge problem in our area. We have some really lovely old church buildings and they are having basically anything metal stolen off them.
I have started saving all my metal "garbage" and taking it to a recycling center myself.

Ok now for the funny part.
You remember all the times we sat down for the anthem or left entirely. Or even during our fades, we stood but didn't sing?
Well I sang my heart out!!!
Yes ladies, gents and fellow apostates, I sang the National Anthem with thousands of little kids. No I was not struck down by lightening. It felt wonderful to put one more brick on the wall between me and the borg.
