Nothing like being away from home staying in crappy hotel room with no fridge hoping the food doesn't spoil.
Or trying to find a grocery store in a strange city with cranky kids.
However I hated the lunches the society provided. I never got in line fast enough and always ended up with
rye bread (which i hated) or vanilla pudding and an over ripe piece of fruit. I kind of thought that if I
spent hours the night before slicing my arms open on the plastic wrap cutter I should at least get a decent
lunch the next day. Don't even get me started about needing a hot cup of coffee/tea and watching all the other
"weak" ones waltz in with steaming cups of hot wonderful coffee and really hating everything about my life at
that moment.

Why you might ask. Well I took with me to the Toronto Apostafest this past autumn. At first
people just signed their names inside the front cover. As the night grew longer and we grew
happier, messages were written. Satan and Franz himself made appearances to sign the book,
although no one actually saw them. Some revisions and editting also occurred.
My friend, after I explained and she had a chance to flip thru, started to laugh and said
she was seriously thinking about leaving the book out the next time her JW Mother in law came over.
She said it was nice that we could make fun of the situation and how much healthier it was for us
than refusing to discuss it like her husband does.
So, thank you to all how made the book that much more special. I bet when you signed it you didn't
think it might change someones mind and bring a smile to a stranger.

PS: one of my best friends just finished reading COC and is disassociating herself from the society.
Life is pretty damn good. -

For so many years I put hours and hours into field service and the like. I spent hours sitting in
hot stuffy cars catering to the whims of old women and arrogant men. I bit my nails to the quick
and never felt good about myself.
Today my son walked by me and I grabbed him and hugged him. He looked up at me and asked why.
I said, just because I love you and am proud of you. He rolled his eyes and walked away but I
could tell he was smiling.
Today I spent two hours sitting on a hard chair bouncing a three month old baby while his mommy talked
about her troubles with breastfeeding. I also talked to a soon to be new mom about what to expect.
I really felt like I made a difference. My time was not wasted and no one implied I could do more. They
were happy I was there. My nails are long and healthy. I am able to show affection
much more readily to those I love.
This is what happens when you leave the guilt and pain behind and move forward. I still have "issues"
however the good times are so much more frequent and I am able to recognise them now.

I use two profiles on my computer. Mine has a password. Mine is to protect my children and my settings. You have no idea what those little minions can do to my computer given enough time.

side note: When I started looking at JWD I had no idea I could look at what people (Para) had posted before. Until he told me his user name I had no idea he even posted here. -

I know in Ontario, Canada if a child misses school because of religious reasons it is not counted against them for their attendance records at least.

LMAO poor dad does he have any idea of how hard it is to take kids to the meetings? Here is your chance to teach her to scream every time a kingdom melody plays.
OK that was a mean thought but I am having a Cranky Bobbi day.
Grats on getting your little back.

my dissfelowshipped hub not happy about our child visiting grandma
by looloo ini have finally got grandma to agree to seeing her grandchild , and hubby does not want it , he thinks that if she cant be bothered to make time for her then i should not chase it up , this is his mother , im not a dub , i can see his point but think it important to try and keep in contact .
any advice?

JW grandparents will believe it is their duty to "save" their grandkids. Even if they don't think they are being harmful to the child, they are. In many little ways they will confuse your child.
Help your husband and stand with him in his fight against JW's. He needs your support more than your child needs a grandparent who will reject him/her at some point in the future.
My 8 year old still doesn't not understand why his grandparents are "mad" at him. The pain he feels breaks my heart, please do not expose your little one to that pain.
