  i think i read somewhere that these poor little jw kids never went back to school after this.

  i remember seeing one of the these girls grew up still a devout jw.

  It was about that time that the WT society finally let the kids be vacinated and we(my brother and I) got ours in school.

  I was in school in 1942 and my parents talked to the principal and explained why they didn't want me to salute the flag etc. He even came over to our house and they talked about it. It was OK with him and we never had any problems at school. He just died a few years ago.

  Why do you believe in the Trinity?

  i believe in god but no longer accept the wt's views.

  i still find the idea of the trinity hard to accept, however, probably because of my jw upbringing.

  a coworker's child died and i attended the church memorial.

  The church I attend to please my wife believes in the trinity. The pastor once said that God was on the cross.

  The bible is always unclear about almost everything it says. Most christain religions just believe it means this or that, depending on it's founders.

  There are several things said by Christ that makes it hard to believe in a trinity. He said only the Father knows the date of his comming, that his father was greator than him, into your hands I commend my spirit. Holy spirit seems to be not a person but a source of power. They could get filled with it and do all kinds of crazy stuff. They do say it's a mystery and all life is a mystery as to it's origin to me.

  I sort of believe in something out there that created all this universe but have never met him yet. I just have one big WHY in my mind.

  The Realization That You Are Going To Die

  you can't help but feel bad for many long time jehovah's witnesses who believed that "the end" was "right around the corner".

  these oldtimers recognize that everyrhing they preached about was wrong regarding the "generation".

  they know that they are going to die.

  december 2008 new scientist.. what would you rather believe in, god or the multiverse?

  it sounds like an instance of cosmic apples and oranges, but increasingly we are being told it's a choice we must make.

  No one understands God or the universe, we can change only a few things, the vast majority of life is a mystery and we just take what we get.

  that was in the days when jws actually chimed in to defend their faith and then got thoroughly thrashed.

  Spanish Cong. In NC

  has anyone noticed how many spanish kingdom halls there are in nc?

  most are shared by the english speaking congregations.

  of course there are other spanish churches also.

  Has anyone noticed how many Spanish Kingdom Halls there are in NC? Most are shared by the english speaking congregations. Of course there are other spanish churches also. We are being flooded by spanish people now. There is a spanish family across the street who are very friendly and seem to be good people. And like all other races there are dope dealers also. Many places won't hire you unless you can speak spanish.

  I like your post about faith. I'm going to a church with my wife. She believes in faith but it doesn't register with me. I have prayed for an enlightment from whoever God is but so far nothing has happened to convince me of anything. When I ride out in the country and see nature and the beauty of it all, I appreciate the universe but don't understand all the bad stuff that occurs in nature. Why is death so much a part of everything? Life is a mystery to me. I think religion is just a way for man to cope with death, but many times causes much death and suffering to happen to those involved in faith. I don't think I will ever understand it.

  Another Death in the Family

  my uncle just died yesterday.

  he was just 2 years older then i am.

  i had 9 uncles, now there is only one alive.

  I'm still doing well for my age, but I can feel the years when I lift something or try to run or do the things I did a few years ago. My last checkup a few weeks ago was good. I don't take any medicine and my blood pressure is OK. Maybe I will last a few more years.
