I don't know if they were baptised or not but I saw the Jackson family at an assembly in PA back in 1973.

this was just too funny and i have to share with you all.. i was browsing a website called abovetopsecret and there are about 16 pages of different topics about jehovah's witnesses.
some very interesting stuff, and mind you, i think it's mostly "worldies".. .
anyway, i stumbled across a comment where a poster said that they think jws get paid to go door to door.. .
Back in the late 50s, if you were a pioneer, you could get the literature for less than you sold it. Sometimes you could make a dollar a day if you were lucky and didn't count the gas you used. I also had a man who was married to a jw who did my taxes and deducted my millage off my taxes. My mother and aunt were special pioneers and got paid a small amount from the WT society each month.

The truth being there is no available answer.

I've come to the conclusion that no one knows the answers to where we came from or why all the universe is here. The only thing I know is that death is only a few years away and nobody can avoid it.

i know one elder that has a habit of saying "let jehovah take care of that" "just wait on jehovah", etc..., what should i say back?
he is pretty good conversation stopper.
i want to change that!
You mean we can wait on Jehovah to find all the sheep out there and not go door to door?

i had fixed my commode, it had a broken bolt that holds it to the floor.
i had got my car license, had it inspected and was going to take a little ride in the country.
as i passed my step-son's house there was an ambulance in his yard.
I had fixed my commode, it had a broken bolt that holds it to the floor. I had got my car license, had it inspected and was going to take a little ride in the country. As I passed my step-son's house there was an ambulance in his yard. I stoped and my grandson had overdosed on alcohol and pills and had passed out and they couldn't revive him. He's in the hospital now. Later on I got a message that my wife's nephew had been killed at his home, the second son of my wifes sister to die in six months. Then another nephew of my wife was in a motorcycle accident and had been in surgery for 6 hours. Not really a good day.

another one of my second cousins killed himself today.
he was 42 and still a jw.
he called 911 and shot himself while talking to them.
Thanks for all of your concern. I heard he was in love with a JW girl and said he couldn't support himself so couldn't get married and support a family. He was a fourth generation JW. I haven't seen him in several years, it was at his uncles funeral who was killed in a car wreck.

Another one of my second cousins killed himself today. He was 42 and still a JW. He called 911 and shot himself while talking to them. A few months ago another JW who was my second cousin shot herself. Is this common in todays congregations? No one knows why he did this. I think I will go to the KH for his memoral service.

any of you remember what was exactly the first thing that crossed your eyeballs to lead you into doubting the wts?.
I really don't know. I just got overworked for years and decided to quit. I was divorced by my JW wife of 16 years, she didn't give me a reason. I married a worldly woman and haven't gone back. Been married for 35 years. I still sort of believed it was the true religion for years but didn't want to be controlled by it and when I read C of C I was free from any guilt.
