i was born in the organization. got baptized at 13 like all my friends..wish i could kill the sister who asked me "why aren't you baptized yet?"...because it didn't really come from me...anyways was a good witness until 15 when i got involved with all the "nice" pot smoking, partying, sneaking out of your house kids in the hall while avoiding the "evil" worldly people... well after double lifing through my teenage years...(i didn't comment..barely went out in service, always was late, left early,) but I went to all the weddings, picnics, etc...anyways finally when i moved out i became inactive for a couple of years and then made the mistake of returning after a couple of years...well i tried to convince myself it was the truth for the past 10 years..and guess what??? still a doubting thomas..always loathed preaching..especially when we would talk about 144,000 or armageddon. just sounded so hokey...tried to just preach about practical matters...you know..values, etc i haven't had the time to look up the scandals, the lies, etc...i just can't believe that God is blessing or involved in an organization that cares more about how much time you are knocking doors to actually how much time is dedicated to caring about people. If one of the signs of the christian congregation is to have love amongst yourselves than definitely the jw's are not it...I've seen so many people treated so badly for being reproved or considered bad association because of the stupidest things. it didn't happen to me although i always was on the fringes...but i had a famous jw name and i always was nice to everyone..trying to be christianly..giving stuff away to people who needed it..trying to give practical advice to people. having baby showers in my house for sisters who had gotten in trouble and gotten pregnant...i really miss some friends who accepted me for who i was..i always made sarcastic comments and tried to be myself..often complaining about long assemblies and crazy talks from the platform...but i'm glad to be out..all in all 28 years of my 31 years of life...i don't consider them all a waste. but i'm happy to have the chance to move ahead and move on........

How Much and for How Long Did You Love Being In The 'Truth'?

up until 4 months ago i had spent my whole life loving being a witness (apart from twinges of discontent when a young girl being left out of attending friends birthday parties) and was a faithful sister who pioneered when possible and was a member of the quickbuild team in my single days.
i felt it was the truth and there was no where else to go.

my mothers conversation with elders

she has been going regularly since 1978 or so.. lately she's been going to some meetings only due to health.. yesterday at noon she got a visit from the p.o.
and he made a "pastoral visit".

when i was still attending book study and we covered the part about the generation in the revelation book, the elder conducting made a stupid comment about how old the anointed must be by now...of course i was looking around to see if anyone was going to raise their hand and correct him..but of course no one did...we were like 15...anyways, i raised my hand and said i remembered studying an article and how it had changed..bla bla bla...but what surprised me was that no on knew anything about it...and this was before any doctrinal doubts....

another story
by mentalclearness inwell learning to fly's story inspired me to write this one...it happened to my extended family...well here goes...our family is very deep rooted in the organization....like in the proclaimers book...part of history...anyways, this one famous "brother" had several children and was an active witness throughout his life..enjoying the type of notoriety that comes from being part of jw history and having a recognizable last name...one day we find out he has died...and apparently it wasn't an accident because he left a note....of course other family members try to say he mixed his medicine...but why the note???
well soon after one of his daughters is super depressed and tries to commit suicide.
she is also a witness...slowly after much therapy seems she gets her memory back and remembers that good old dad sexually abused her until she got her period...turns out he did this to all his children....of course all of them had blocked out the memories but all had problems with their husbands in the sexual department...they all began remembering incidences as well...so in the end, this brother that everyone looked up and thought was so wonderful was just another sick pedophile who raped all his kids and committed suicide.

i talked to my mom yesterday at the increasing amount of really unchristian like people in the halls and basically she said the world is getting so bad it's spilling into the congregations...whatever.. i guess there is an answer for everything....

I don't think any member of the governing body or bethel or whatever is going to be reading this...but there are still active jw's here and the truth of the matter is that I myself am not da'd or df'ed as of yet and I'd like to keep it that way so I can still talk to my family..duh...that's the reason for my anonymity...
