Oh yes..I almost forgot about the daughter of an elder. Super perfect...well they traveled to another country and the family stays with another family with two small kids. Elder's daughter helps out by being nanny to kids while everyone is at work. Well, husband and nanny have an affair and are disfellowshipped. He is like 40 something and she is in earlt twenties. They get married and I think were reinstated a little while ago. Meanwhile wife is left devastated and of course elder dad and mom are horrible ashamed...They moved with their daughter and new hubby out of state.

Whats the weirdest case that was handled in your congro??
by karter inwe had one were a guy screwed his dog.. a guy got his step daughter pregnant and ran off with her, his wife committed sue-aside , in our country you can't marry your step children if you are the course of the brake up however apparently its not against scriptural law so the congregation gave them a marriage.. we had 4 sisters pregnant in the congro (all married) this bro of questionable mental health confessed to the elders to being father of them all.. .

In my old spanish hall one sister who was a single mom with daughter went to the elders because she was pregnant. She was pressed to give the fathers name but she wouldn't and was disfellowshipped. Turns out the father was a well respected elder from our hall who had two kids. He was disfellowhipped as well and his wife forgave. Long story short, the two sinners were reinstated and it was kind of awkward at congregation get togethers to have his illigetimate child and his family at the same gathering....Very strange...

Moments at the District Assembly You'll Never Forget...
by integ ini'll never forget the assembly in madison, wi.
where some poor sap had to tell everyone that he had become addicted to porno on the net, but through much prayerful contemplation and after confessing to the elders he was able to come to "grips" with it.. good luck to that guy with ever getting a fine sister to marry him.. poor guy.
i really felt sorry for him.

Once I was at a horsetrack that was used for an assembly. A storm started and the lightning was so close you could hear it before the thunder. I think one of the trees in the parking lot was hit by lightning...Really quite scary.

JWs Who Fight Injustice

i have jw friends who are still believers in jehovah's organization but have spoken out quite forcefully against injustice against the lowly ones in their khs.
some have even prevailed over dogmatic and authoritarian pos, cos and dos.

My mother. because she is an ex missionary I guess she's forgiven for being so upfront with the elders and doing what her conscience dictates her to do. Just as an example..A brother in her hall with family had a problem with a young 14 year old girl...So he was reproved and priviledges taken away. Well a single mother with her two adolescent girls move into the congo like two years after the incident. Their families start frequenting and the elders go to the single mom to tell her it's not a good idea to hang around with said family. Of course they fail to mention why. So the sister assumes the brothers kids are bad association...Well my mom heard about it and went directly to single mom and told her it wasn't about the kids it's about the dad. He has a problem with young girls so don't let your girls around him. She is that type of women. Her conscience would not permit her to sleep at night if she wouldn't have done that,,,,

Were You Ever Snubbed In The Hall & Didn't Know Why???
by minimus inwere you ever treated by the elders, their families and "the friends" in a way that made you feel you were unwanted?.
there's probably nothing worse than realizing that you are not being treated with the same dignity and love as others.
once we come out of the organization, we expect better but sadly the real world can be cruel too.

Reading another post reminded me of how I was accused of being DF'ed and moving the country to not be shunned. Apparently that was the word being put out by one fine sister in my new congregation when I first moved here......I actually did clear that up..Confronted all those gossipy older sisters in the hall and of course they all blamed each other but no one took responsability for anything....

The first time I recieved that type of treatment I was 8/9? I had been priviledged to say the morning announcements at school over the speaker. Of course this included the pledge of allegiance. So i read the pledge (as I didn't know the words) without holding my hand to my heart. That made it o.k. in my little girl head. Well, needless to say the other JW kids who went to school with me didn't talk to me. In fact they completely ignored me even at the bus stop that we unfortunately shared. Finally i told my mom, because of course I didn't understand...She went and talked to the family and they ca,e the next day bearing gifts and apologizing.....hmmmmm...since then I used to be snubbed all the time in the hall as an adolescent because I didn't comment much and I hated service, so Basically I was bad association. Which was probably true at the time anyway...

The Worst Association
by WTWizard inyou have probably heard that scripture at 1co 15:33. that is the one that bad associations spoil useful habits.
however, they are not applying it correctly when they mean that people should only associate with those in the inner circle of the organization.. in my experience, some of the worst association i have ever seen was within the congregation of jehovah's witlesses.
these people have destroyed many a useful habit of mine.

Ha Void Eater! Reminds me of my teenage friends. Yes those Jw friendships that taught me how to lie and manipulate my family to get what I wanted while still being seen as a good JW. How to roll and smoke my first joint. How to come up with schemes to go to worldly parties. The list goes on and on......
And why I had to lie and say I was going eith my JW friends to activities instead of my real worldly friends who were actually so much more moral and upright than the JW's??? Finally I wisened up at about 18 and just stopped the lying. I went out with whoever I chose.

I remember thinking I wouldn't see my nieces and nephews graduate or be teenagers in this system, but look at them now!!! Already getting ready for college. And now of course I'm thinking about my future and my childrens. In fact will be setting up a college fund for them as well.

Unexplained Mormon "miracles"...Unexplained JW "miracles"
by FormerMormon inok... lets get the ribbing aside.
our mormon "miracles" are more unexplainable than yours.... one of the many tools used by the morg to keep it's members active is the use of faith promoting stories involving apparent miracles... or the unexplainable.
there are unexplainable stories even in my own family.
