  any way, he spoke of the events of the last year, how they were significant, about the brothers going to the trade center and offering comfort from the scriptures, while priests and ministers only offered water and towels, and about the change in subscription arrangement.

  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU..TO ALL OF YOU. I feel like I've been counseled, but in good way! Very good points were made by everyone. I'm printing this all out to show to my husband and TRY to reason with him.

  This is my first year of celebrating (kind of) that holiday that falls on December 25..I'm sure you all know the one I mean(smile.)
  I don't know if my elder friend saw the tiny Norfolk Pine with garlands of rosebuds as decoration. If he did, he ignored it.

  Hello Everyone,

  Wow, what wonderful answers, I am truly appreciative for all the support, it wasn't what I expected. Thought I might get really lambasted for not standing up for myself, etc. That has always been a problem for me. Thank you all again, such good suggestions. Tonite I intend to sit down and formulate a plan on how to deal with this in the future. Again thanks so much. I know I have a lot of work to do.

  Thank you for your kind words and speedy response. I know I have to be strong and think for myself. It's so easy to let others make decisions for you, that's the trap, and I know it. Really, who else can explain why the world is the way it is, except the witnesses. And that is so appealing, to know, or think you know, the way out.

I felt pretty smart because I had heard about all of those things on this board, and the reasons for them. But he said that Jehovah was loving and kind (and I really want to believe that) and that brothers do make mistakes. He also told me that if I can only get to a meeting now and then, it would be okay.
  I mean, he was so kind and loving in his speech. I am easily swayed by affection and attention, why am I feeling this way? I thought I had everything sorted out in my head.....FreeFalling

  Questions about Athletic Activities while a JW

  hi, everyone.. on my researches about the jdubs.

  i read that they are restricted or forbidden from engaging in activities such as sports, working out in a gym or in martial arts.. i, who does all three, have a question for the members of this forum:.

  when you were a jw, could you do any of the three activities mentioned?.

  I seem to recall an Awake or Watchtower about children in Japan who were required to take a martial arts class or fencing. Witness children refused.

  Perhaps someone knows the article I mean.

  Tom Petty's song was playing on the radio when I made my first post. I identified with both the "good girl" and "bad boy" in the lyrics.
  Free Falling also applies to how I've felt ever since starting to lurk on this board about 6 months ago. Plummeting to destruction with a tattered parachute, that parachute being what I believed to be the "truth." Sometimes I wish I had never started this journey.
