Four door cars

i'm learning all sorts of fascinating things here.

recently i've noticed a lot of people making reference to four-door cars as being the only ones approved by jws.

is this for real?

I was once counseled, to not to even think about showing up for service on my motorcycle, and I was only kidding around at the time. I should have anyway just to piss the jerk off.

Here is how it works:

4 door car= spiritually strong

2 door car= spiritually weak

motorcycle= spawn of Satan.

Friendly warning for JW lurkers re: blood in food

i work in a meat-processing plant in the us.

one of the products we make is the stuff that becomes roast beef.

i can't tell who for, and we're not their only supplier, but they're big enough to advertise nationwide in america, so..... anyway, when we do our part on my line, before the meat's sent to the next step, we drip blood from the meat's box in the container the raw meat's dumped into.

In theory it is as wrong for a JW to eat improperly bleed meat as it is for them to receive a blood transfusion. Practice however is quite different then theory. I know of not one JW that eats only kosher meat or purchases their meat from devout Muslim butchers.

Kosher meat is the only properly bleed meat that is widely available in the commercial market. So unless they are butchering their own cows, they are in violation of the so-called command to abstain from blood.

Some people are under the mistaken belief that kosher means blessed by a rabbi, this is simply not the case. To adhere to the kosher standard, which is to say in fact the Biblical standard, the meat must be drained of its blood entirely. Have you ever defrosted hamburger or a stake, do you see the bloody mess it makes? That my friend is a sure sign that the meat has not been properly bleed.

The kosher process involves a labor-intensive type of butchery, almost surgical. This includes deliberately removing specific arterial systems and fat from the carcass, and using cold running water to wash the meat as well as salt to drain even the invisible remnants of blood from the meat.

That is why kosher meat costs more; it is a lot of extra trouble to prepare meat this way, and the commercial market simply does not engage in this practice because of the prohibitive costs involved. So the next time a JW starts in with the we abstain from blood, you may wish to ask him or her how much salt and cold running water was used to drain the meat they are eating.

Im sighting no references in this posting because Im simply too lazy, and anyone reading this has at their finger tips tons of references available over the net and in their own Bible.

Aztec: You are 100% correct, we are not getting the whole picture and we are indeed being fed propaganda. All nations engage in it. You are one smart cookie.

Back2dafront: T he point I was trying to make was that a full and fair examination of the facts does not support her conclusion. Put another way, her premise is not supported because she fails to meet the burden of proof placed upon her by her assertions.

I do not want to start ripping apart her essay but you are almost forcing me to do that just to prove a simple point with you.

I have had my work shredded many times, so I know of what I speak and Im telling you truthfully the logic here is flawed. Im not going to put her work through the meat grinder as some posters on this db seem to relish in doing because that is not what Im about, but let me show you the types of errors in logic Im talking about with just a little example.

Example:

Dick Cheney, was Halliburtons chairman and chief executive. Halliburton is the worlds largest oil field services company. source: WhiteHouse.org
Halliburton has signed contracts and provides services to Chevron.

Ok so lets see what we find here. Dick Cheney WAS Halliburtons chairman. OK Ill go along with that. So now he is not, in fact he is not even a stockholder, he divested remember? So exactly how does Mr. Cheney profit since he no longer has an interest in the company? You have a bit a problem here dont you think?

Then there is the Halliburton / Chevron connection. Well what do we have here an oil services company that has contracts with an oil company. Wow, what do you think the odds are that the worlds largest oil field services company would have Chevron as one of their many customers? Like almost 100% guaranteed I would say. And because they have a contract with them that means what?

Conspiracy , bribery, collusion???

Do you see the flaws?

Im not saying Aztec is wrong, she could be 100% right, however she has not presented a credible case, a fair jury would not hang these guys as Im sure some you would like too.

That is just a small example back2dafront, I could show you more but why, what purpose would it serve?

Aztec, I sincerely mean no disrespect to you, its just that your little essay caught my eye. Probably because it looked like some of the stuff I handed in when I was in school. And then I remembered how my essays always came back all marked up and with more pages of notes attached then my entire original paper. A two-page essay came back with three pages of notes criticizing what just took me hours and hours to write!

In the beginning it made me feel about three feet tall, but then I realized criticism is actually a good and positive thing, its how we learn and become better. If I had the logical reasoning skills back when the JWs were trying to recruit me that I have now, oh boy they would be in trouble! Not only would I be impervious to their sly and deceptive recruitment tactics, but also I may have even been able to drag my recruiter out from that cult.

Anyway thats really all I wanted to say, in fact Ive said too much, I should shut up before I get my ass kicked. Please feel free to slice and dice my post or tell me to just plain shove it. Dont matter I dont offend very easy and Im so dumb I just keep coming back for more anyway J

Peace March around the World

i watched the news on tv, and i saw reports of thousands of people all around the world asking for peace instead of war.

do you think that these peace rallies will really make a difference?.

do you think that these peace rallies will influence the president of the united states?

I heard that at least one of the protests was going to be done by nude women.

Im generally all for that sort of thing! But I also heard one of the comments from one of these women was to the effect that it reminds her of when she protested the Vietnam War back in the day.

No offense ladies, but when you reach a certain age, isnt it best not to be prancing around in the nude?

I say let the young college coeds of today have their day and we the old-farts will just look on with wonder.

Aztec you really have done an excellent job of researching your data. You obviously put in some time into this and are very passionate about your beliefs, and thats excellent! However you made the same mistake I did some years ago and for the same reasons. If I were your professor grading your essay I would give you a very good mark, but you would still be a few points short of the highest grade possible.

And why would that be? Because you have all kinds of good data but you started with a false premise. Your premise is that Bush/Cheney and the other assorted big-oil cohorts are pushing for war with Iraq for the purpose of financial gain. You in fact said:

The facts show the Bush family and friends stand to profit greatly from war and the controlled flow of Iraqi oil.

For this to be true, oil prices would have to rise considerably and remain there over considerable time as a result of the war. Are you aware what happened to oil prices during the last Iraq war? Are you aware how the Saudis were beside themselves with grief because the benchmark price of crud plummeted and hovered at approximately $10.00 per barrel?

I would suggest that if any of you have oil futures, sell them now because if history is any indicator, when this dictator is removed from power, oil futures are going down.

So in conclusion I will say to you what my professor said to me (Im paraphrasing as he said it much better): I loved your work, your effort and passion are obvious and Im giving you extra credit for that and you will need that extra credit too due to the fact that I will be deducting a few points because your data does not support your premise, you simply are wrong.

Did Most At The Kingdom Hall Ignore Or Talk To You

did you find that you tended to find yourself alone, without many people to talk to, or were you generally able to chit-chat with the "friends" at the hall?

I was pretty much able to chit-chat with anyone in my old congregation up until I started to do some work for the government. Everybody liked me when I was a TV repairman, but then word got around that I was now doing government work. Oh boy.

When people found out about that, then I got the distinct feeling they thought I had sold-out. I could tell. I think there also was a fair amount of jealousy too because the money I was making was many times what they were being paid, and they new it. For the record, I was doing some work for a non-military federal agency, but in their ignorance they paint all government jobs with a broad brush; they are all part of Satans empire.

I have not talked to those people in years but I thank them so much as it was their lousy attitude and some ultimatums demanded upon me by the elders in that congregation that ultimately led to my awakening to the truth about the truth. I only wish I had not lost so many years and some of my family in the process.
