I watched the news on TV, and I saw reports of thousands of people all around the world asking for peace instead of war. Do you think that these peace rallies will really make a difference?
Do you think that these peace rallies will influence the president of the United States?
Get more than 3 people to protest something and that is what the media will be covering no matter what the popular opinion is!!!

Heard this on the news this morning - the number given was "tens of thousands". Heck, the G8 protestors at Genoa numbered nearly 100000! Is this the best the lefty peaceniks can do?? "Tens of thousands" worldwide?
What will they be singing as their anthem - "All we are say-ing, is give Saddam a chance"?

I heard a couple of reporters from "60 Minutes" talking about this on Larry King the other night. They said the only time a US President's poplularity didn't increase, during wartime, was during the Vietnam war. If there is a war with Iraq, they suspect the people will view it similarly. Most people don't want the war.
Peaceniks? As opposed to war mongering morons? I'll take the peacenik title thanks. Peace rallies don't influence policy but they do influence elections. The last thing George Dumbya wants is to loose the next election. He still has a few civil liberties to trample. Bush is reaching with his sense of urgency on Iraq but I think he is hoping his popularity will increase with a war. As Mulan has pointed out that is not happening.
Most people may not want the war, but I suggest that they would dislike being on the receiving end of Saddam and bin Laden's terrorist plans for this country even more.

We will apparently always have with us people who can't think beyond the end of their noses. There were people in this country who wanted to go along with Neville Chamberlain and continue "appeasing" Hitler. Can you imagine it? And the answer to the question "Will there always be an England" would have been a resounding NO!

Francois, those things are going to come to this country as a RESULT of the war. Hello - our own government is responsible for the anthrax outbreak in 2001! We keep getting involved in Middle East affairs, they develop more and more hatred for us. If we'd stay over here and mind our own damn business none of this would be happening.
I heard that at least one of the protests was going to be done by nude women.
Im generally all for that sort of thing! But I also heard one of the comments from one of these women was to the effect that it reminds her of when she protested the Vietnam War back in the day.
No offense ladies, but when you reach a certain age, isnt it best not to be prancing around in the nude?
I say let the young college coeds of today have their day and we the old-farts will just look on with wonder.

Surely you jest. Those wackos over there hate EVERYONE who's not a Muslim. The rest of the people in the world are considered infidels and these fanatical wackos would love to see all of us dead. The reasoning that the USA is involved in the Middle East affairs is simply a cop-out and an excuse for them. Hel-loooooo!!! Was September 11th not indication enough evidence of that???
No one likes war, but sometimes its necessary. What do you think would've happened if America hadn't got involved in WWII? Personally, I wouldn't want to have lived under the Third Reich. Saddam Hussein is another insane dictator just like Hitler and there's only one message he understands: force.
