Other Sheep will start taking the emblems.
by hamsterbait inwas at the kingdumb hell yesterday after a gap.. paragraph 11 planted the seed in the sheeples' heads for this.. remember last weeks study, where martha was quoted as saying: "i know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.
" (jo 11: 24) the term "last day" was explained as applying to the millennium, in the same way as "judgment day" for those receiving an earthly resurrection.. now for paragraph 11 - i noticed some bemused faces, as usually john 6 is avoided in articles discussing earthly resurrection:.
" "the bread that i shall give is my flesh," he said.

I wanted to scream at the Elder Sunday morning "you are a lying !!!!!!"
by TooBad TooSad inmy wife wanted to go visit some friends at another kingdom hall so i tagged along.
to keep her happy.
the elder giving the "public" talk brought up the 1975 myth.. he said, as he looked around the audience, "it looks like there are not a lot of brothers.

The rich man and Lazarus parable: ancient literature parallels?
by behemot inin their book heaven: a history, colleen mcdannell and bernhard lang mention that some scholars doubt the authenticity of the parable of the rich man and lazarus (luke 16), given its strict parallels in ancient literature.. to support this they make reference to the following essays (which i don't have access to):.
isidore levy, la legende de pythagore: de grece en palestine, campion, paris 1927, pp.
310-12; ronald f. hock, lazarus and mycillus: graeco-roman backgrounds to luke 16:19-31, in journal of biblical literature, 196 (1987), pp.

this would help the no-soul and no-hell doctrine a lot but would kill the bible as being gods word.

This is my name, I was a witness, and this is why I will never be again.
by wanderlustguy inthanks to this site, not only am i free of the mental imprisonment, but i am also free of the fear that the society used to keep me and others like me silent.. i am not a witness anymore because the truth is not what we are directred to think it is.
once we allow ourselves to think, it is clear as day that there is no real basis for anyone to take the title of faithful and discreet slave.
there are folders and lists which contain the names of pedophiles who were never turned over to the proper authorities for their crimes.

Is it just me?
by tryingtounderstandjws inor does this seem a little hypocritical of the jw organization?

i think they say its okay to get this help, because jws pay taxes, would work for the government and accept the governments authority as long as its not in direct opposition to the bibles law (i.e. killing).
at least thats what i heard as an excuse when it comes to the NGO affair (which is just getting "help" from a governmental organisation).

If you want to leave the truth, just walk away!
by moomanchu ina close relative recently called me verbatim, "a bad, bad, bad apostate and a sinner against the holy spirit" .. the apostate remark didn't bother me, actually it's a compliment when you think about it.. saying i was a "sinner against the holy spirit" that did bother me.
this got me to wondering about all the names, accusations and labels given to people who don't want to be a jw anymore.. doing a quick search in the insight books i came up with a list.. apostates pg.126, antichrist pg.116, man of lawlessnes pg.
310, resurrection - sinning against the holy spirit pg.

Those who fight Jehovah’s visible organization , upon which his spirit is manifest, sin against the holy spirit, unforgivably so.
i think posting anti-jw in a public forum to save others from being a jw is "fighting Jehovah's visible organization", right? ok, so i am bird food anyway :-)
seriously, thats a horrible way to pressure humans into obeying other humans. who needs "hell", wenn we can unleash the unforgivable sin on ppl who dont think the same as we?

Finally putting the new light all together
by JimmyPage inokay maybe i'm a little slow but i'm finally beginning to understand how all the "new light" is tied together.
this has all been prompted for me by my reading of the 1914 chapter in "crisis of conscience".
see, the door to heaven which was previously closed in 1935 has been reopened.
