i lived in bear valley for 2 years, but, never went to the kingdom hall. i lived in lakewood off wadsworth ave.
Me too, well sorta. We looked at apartments in Bear Valley and passed by that kingdumb hell several times but ended further up wadsworth, right across the street from the Sam's Club around the 4800 block south, just north of Columbine HS. When we moved into those apartments Governors Ranch was just starting to be built up and we could have bought a house for what we were paying in rent, Several builders in that addition had really nice starter homes for right at $150k. When we moved out of that apartment 3 years later you couldn't buy anything in that addition for less than $250k. I still kick myself for missing out on that opportunity. That apartment complex was in one of those areas that no city wanted to take responsibility for. One side of wadsworth was Lakewood the other side was Denver. We threw a b-day party for a friend and we got kind of rowdy. When the neighbors called 911 (it was a hell of a party, I made everyone who came do shots with me just to get in the door and there were many, many people who showed up) we had both Denver cops and Lakewood cops respond to the call. The policemen had to hash out who had jurisdiction and I don't remember who actually told us to shut down the party. Same apartment complex when the Broncos won the superbowl, the building across from us third floor balcony collapsed because there were so many people jumping up and down after the win. Oh yeah, the Pines at Marsden lake, that's what it was called. I had my first run in with jw's in Denver when we lived there. My sister had given a gift subscription to the Asleep? magazine to my ward and they called on her to see if she wanted to study or renew the sub. She had opened the door to them and they were deep in their shpeal when I went over to the door. I took the magazine one of the elders (I'm assuming they were elders because of the time of day they were out and the way they were speaking) had given her and threw it at their feet and as I was slamming the door I told them to go count their time on someone else. Good times.
We then moved a couple of miles south, still right off of wadsworth and cross drive, right across the street from that mall whose name I can't remember right now. They had a pretty decent bar in the parking lot of the mall called the Draft. I sure do miss 90 Shilling and Fat Tire beer. We can't get them in Oklahoma because we have some stupid law on the books about not allowing beer over 3.2 % to be shipped cold. It's a pretty stupid law because you can still buy beer in the liquor stores over 3.2 but they can't put it into the cooler and some brewers only ship cold.
When we finally pulled our heads out and bought a home, we moved to Aurora way the hell east about 20 miles from DIA. I would have gone nuts making that commute into the DTC, Greenwood Village and Englewood if they hadn't opened e-470. It was a great house with an awesome layout but there was an opening between the two houses across the street that went all the way to e-470. When the weather was nice enough to open the windows in the master bedroom we got to listen to the traffic whizzing by. Add to that the flyovers from DIA and it was pretty much noisy all the time. It's funny how you can overlook (or underlisten to) ambient noises when you really want to buy a home. Once I owned that house it drove me nuts.
.
i guess this means you can maim and kill animals all you want, just so long as you don't enjoy it too much.. sorta like being a isrealite warrior who makes a living killing people but yet is commanded to "hate violence".
[inkling].
"The apostles didn't brag about their catch"
Luke 5:6 "...they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. 7 So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they filled both boats so full they began to sink"
That ain't braggin'?
even when i was a witness...i loved that song!
{{{singing}}}} at oklahoma's oldest jeweler, since 1892, so give the gift you know can't fail..... i always like to get back to oklahoma at the holiday time to hear that damn song..
Here's an interesting tidbit from the BC Clark website:
You have found the secret page containing the original version of the B. C. Clark Jingle which contains the mysterious missing line, "The Christmas wish of B. C. Clark is to keep on pleasing you." This version aired from 1956 to 1976
I don't recall that line in the song, but then again I was six years old when they took the 'secret' line out. Do you guys remember that line?
When the B. C. Clark Christmas Jingle first aired, certainly no one could have predicted that over the years it would become the Oklahoma tradition that it is today. Intended to promote B. C. Clark’s annual Anniversary Sale, it has evolved over time into Oklahoma’s own Christmas carol. The Jingle was first written and produced in 1956, and soon it developed a life of its own. The public made that clear in 1961 when B. C. Clark produced a new jingle thinking the original one was dated and had run its course. It was replaced with the old familiar one within hours, after a barrage of complaints. One small adjustment did have to be made in 1977 when television commercials went from 60 seconds to 30 seconds. Originally 35 seconds long, the line “The Christmas wish of B. C. Clark is to keep on pleasing you” had to be edited from the original song in order to make it fit. Today, people still ask about the mysterious “missing line.”
It is very possible that the B. C. Clark Christmas Jingle may be the longest continuously running jingle in the entire United States, and in January of 2001, it made its national television debut when actress Megan Mullally, an Oklahoma City native, sang the Jingle on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. It has been sent to service men and women overseas, sung on airplanes full of homesick Oklahomans, used to lighten the mood at church services, performed at school pageants, and it has even become a standard at many holiday songfests and concerts. Most Oklahomans will agree that it’s just not Christmas without the B. C. Clark Jingle.

Loved that one!
So I asked my Oklahoma neighbor why he wore a tuxedo to his vasectomy.
He said, "If I'm gonna be im-po-tent, I'm gonna dress im-po-tent."

"Jewelry is the gift to give, because its the gift that'll live and live. So give the gift you know can't fail, from BC Clarks anniversary sale. Most sales are after Christmas, but Clarks is just before. Everything is marked way down, savings you can't ignore. At Oklahoma's oldest jewelers, since 1892. So give the gift you know can't fail, at BC Clarks anniversary sale."
I once stood on a pool table at a hotel in Denver, CO and sang that song on a bet from my drunken co-workers. It ain't Christmas until I hear that ad at least 10 times. In fact I'm humming it now and I'm comsletely pober.

wow.
that's the only word that comes to mind.
What will really blow your mind is to watch these guys hang those toms on their shoulders and do the same routine while marching forwards, backwards and sideways. If you ever get the chance to see DCI live you should go, it's amazing what these 'kids' are able to do.

You know what they say, "It's not the size of the shoes, but how you walk in them that counts."
Seriously though, I haven't equated shoe size to IQ prior to this.
