How many JWs do you know that have "Failure to Launch" Syndrome

tired of the hypocrisy's post got me thinking ... how many jw "kids" over the age when they should have left home still live with their parents.

i say this because i have many of those in my congregation.

fyi it looks real bad to be a older man (ie 25 and up) scrub laying up at home unless you have a outstanding circumstance i.e.

i have been away from the jw cult for a while now, but seem to remember that they were teaching at one time that after the big-a, the birds would be eating the flesh of all those that died.. okay... at that time - i accepted this - gruesome as it sounded.. they also taught that the lion would lie down with the lamb.

okay... that means lions not eating meat - unless i misunderstood the analogy.. sooooooo... let me get this straight.

It was a figure of speech. You will have to go back to the scripture to get a correct quote and I suggest KJV.

Yes, the birds will "eat the flesh" in a symbolic way. Have you not read that the last plaque is the "plague of the air".

Well, it's already in USA and being kept very quiet. The news media is owned. Places of mass bird death are quarrantined and people under gag orders.

Right now in US it's predominately being spread by water fowl.

In China it has progressed from chickens, water fowl into both pigs and humans. There have been mass slaughter of pigs about 3 years ago due to this.

When is it going to crash?

i see allot of people here that is in the know i mean really in the know and am very great full for being in these discussion with you all.

since this is such a large subject to us all and all have different strong points in it, im sure we can come up with some form of hypothesis when this organization is going to implode on its self or when its about to but before it does it bails last minute by changing some doctrine around so it doesnt completely fall but keep enough for them to survive again for it to rebuild, as theyve done so many times in the past.

history for some reason tends to always repeat it self, i truly believe its about that time.

Hi Delta.

I didn't know what crash you were referring to when I first read your title. We have several crashes looming on the horizon.

Two days ago I read a report out of the UK that the "powers that be" are about to contrive a MARKET crash very soon.

Their thinking is that the US economy can drag on and die a slow torturous death for maybe 3 years. Or if they deliberately crash the market then recovery can go ahead and begin to take place, albeit it may take those three years to recover.

Then, we have a satellite about to crash in a few weeks, too.

Maybe these things are omens.

Maybe the world is going into crash mode.

Yeah, it would be nice to see WTS crash...and burn.

According to what I understand from scripture, these things that are in place will not be totally destroyed until Armageddon. They will be revealed for the evil entities that they are, and that is happening today. That in itself will cause an emotional tribulation. But none of it truly and totally ends until Armageddon.

Program jws have to locate each other in emergency

did anyone hear about the special program the jws had or have for locating each one of the faithful ones when the great tribulation occurs or something like that.

my jw mom who passed away in 2006 was going on and on about this but i didn't want to ask to much.

i would get an earful of preaching then.

I seem to remember something about when false religion was destroyed the Wild Beast would attack Jehovahs people or something

Duh-uh? Members of the WTS are NOT truly Jehovah's people.

Just imagine...suppose it is revealed that the WTS is entertwined with the political system and plays an active part in "marking people" (ha. like they don't already!)

Just imagine how little effort it will take to find those they want to chase down. JWs have even listed info as to where they will be if they are not at home. They have also given two or three alternative contacts in their info that they have turned into WTS.

Gee...talk about no place to hide!

Those JWs who have revealed so much contact info will have no secrets and never a place to "hide out" from the GB

WTS Preparing for Tribulation?

a active jw friend, just recently commented to me that the co said all these changes (eg.. 30 min.

public talk, less magazines publications...etc.

) is a sign of the great tribulation is sooooo close now, and the wts is preparing.. i chuckled, when he said that.

I never heard them talk very much about "tribulation". It was as though they IGNORED that part.

When I have mentioned tribulation, my friend holds up two fingers squeezing them together and says "armageddon and tribulation are just like this". This close.

They seem to be under the delusion that as soon as tribulation starts, Armageddon happens.

I feel certain that tribulation will have a duration of time. There will be no "immediate rescue".

I have never heard the JWs talk much about tribulation before.

So why would they make an issue of it now?

What can you say or do to make a parent realize they have stolen, thwarted and sacrified their child's life?

What is the future for an adult-child like this when the parents die?

I am so glad you brought up this topic. It hits very close to home with me and I am really hoping all of you can help me to understand because this makes me MAD and it makes me very SAD at the same time.

I know a JW man-child who is 50+ and has never left home. He does not do any pioneer work. He makes occassional meetings. His father is a control-freak elder. He rules the family with an iron hand. His wife is timid...if she DARES to voice an opinion she is reminded of her obligation to be "submissive". The poor boy-man has never had a friend in all the years I have known him. He is not allowed to have time for extra activities and must account to the elder father for his time and whereabouts. He also must, in a sense "ask permission" by giving details of his intentions before he leaves the house. The elder father treats them like they are there to SERVE and OBEY him. He works for the father and is treated like slave labor.

Even as a young child he was very isolated and not allowed to have pets. Because, after all, animals die and that's painful. JW children are isolated and ostracized enough as it is. But to be denied even the comfort of a pet when you have no companions seems like extreme isolation for a child.

He rarely has anything to say. It is as though he just resigned early on to his fate. He has been so dominated that by now, he probably could not function in the world by himself. I have actually seen intimidation tactics used by his father. If he dares to speak up or have an idea that he thinks might work better and its in contradiction to what his father has said, the father will stand toe to toe in front of him about 3 inches from his face and make a "how dare you question me" remark.

This elder is one of the stupidest people you could ever meet. He cannot hold a normal conversation. His conversations consist of quoting the same worn out scriptures and one-liner jokes. But yet, he commands such authority at the KH and I am sure he has ruined a lot of people's lives. He is a vindictive person and always likes to "be in the Know". In other words he sticks his nose into everyone's business so it will give him something to be in charge of as far as bringing people into the jc so the elders don't go "jobless".

It seems like the cult mentality trickles down even into homelife. People are made as slaves in their own homes like in this situation. It's all about power and control. How is it that a person with zilch intellect can wield such power over people?

Why do these parents not realize the responsibility to TEACH their children the value of being able to have their own life? Don't they realize the child will flounder and be lost if they pass on and the child has never been taught any independence? Why do they not value that learning about the world around then is a way to show appreciation for their Creator?

I mentioned this to someone a while back and they suggested that these types of "adult children" end up like Ed Gein. (This was the wierdo on whom the character of "Buffalo Bill" was based. Silence of the Lambs) Some say these child adults end up as anti-social psychopaths.

Can anyone give me a profile on what happens to these adult children?

TRICHINA --[trikai'ne], a parasitic roundworm, Trichinella spiralis, in the class of Nematoda of the phylum Aschelminthes (or Nemathelminthes). It is the cause of human trichinosis, a widespread disease in various parts of the world. It is estimated that about 20,000,000 persons are infected in the United States. The infection is contracted by eating raw or improperly cooked pork or pork products, which contain encysted larvae, the immature worms. The cysts are digested in the stomach, releasing the larvae, which migrate to the intestine, attaching themselves to the intestinal wall. In five to seven days they become sexually mature and mate. The viviparous female then burrows into the intestinal wall to discharge her larvae. A female may deposit about 15,000 larvae in five to seven weeks; after this she dies. The larvae migrate into the lymphatic system and small veins and are distributed to various parts of the body, eventually reaching the striated muscles in which they encyst. The greatest invasion is into the muscles of the diaphragm, tongue, chest, shoulders, and thighs. After several months, the body of the host, that is, the infected person, deposits calcium around the encysted larvae. Lesions result from the mechanical and toxic irritations produced by the larvae during the invasion, migration, and encystation. They often invade the heart muscles, causing myocarditis; in the diaphragm they interfere with respiration. There is no effective treatment and the best preventive measures are proper meat inspection and thorough cooking of pork. Collier's Encyclopedia, The Crowell-Collier Publishing Company, 1965, Ross F. Nigrelli. But when God tells us that it is not safe to eat pork, believe Him. True, then man comes along and makes his own rules to put on top of that decree by God. Jesus talks about these issues in the Mark Chapter 7 passage, i.e., the "washing of cups and pots," which you will find nowhere in the Bible other than mentioned here by Jesus. (Psalms 118:8) So why put tradition at odds with the Word of God? "Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God." (Matthew 22:29) -- trust in God, He doesn't change. "Do not err, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." (James 1:16-17)
