I would recommend taking milk thistle as many toxins and poisons are stored in the liver.

40A horrible scary thing happened to my daughter. You won't believe this
by coffee_black inmy daughter was on her way to work last week and stopped for a milkshake at a fast food restaurant.
they were caught on tape using the slop bucket they used for cleaning bathrooms etc.
to empty out the milkshake machine while they cleaned it, and then pour the milkshake mix (in the contaminated slop bucket) back into the machine.. apparently there was also a group of kids from an after school program that had a party there that same day.

I think we should also remember the newbies who may be lurking.
Things like this may scare them away and defeat our purpose in helping them to find ground here.
This also goes for offensive language and pornographic content which I have seen all over this board and personally find offensive.
No wonder some people are one post wonders.
If they tap into a link like that, their first impression is "yep. The bOrg was right about the apostates and the internet. It's no place I want to be."
When the board had become overwhelmingly sad at one point, I had hoped humor would lift spirits. So I started a thread entitled "hollywood casting call". It was intended to be a humorous piece of dark comedy about the Society. But some people encouraged and participated in posting pornographic photographs and wrote disgusting explicit sexual acts on the thread. The mods have now removed it because of this.
I hold no resentments. We are all constantly learning about our own selves and the world. Life is a learning process. And the mistakes we make today...well, hopefully we will be wiser tomorrow.
Sometimes people say things off the cuff without considering the impact on others. Perhaps when its pointed out, in the future one will weigh words more carefully before speaking. It may be an unconscious habit of JW conditioning ..to always have a ready answer and to speak quickly.
One day as I was watching my mother decorate a cake, the icing came too fast out of the pastry tube and made a big *splat*. I thought the cake was ruined. But my mother smiled and changed the nozzle on the tube. "When you make a mistake," she said, "just put a rose on it."
That rose can be as simple as an apology. If we can all learn to be sensitive to others and admit the mistake and learn to say "I'm sorry"...well, that is a great step forward in effective communication. And it wouldn't hurt if some of you would go back and read the guidelines under submitting posts. Or use your edit button on your posts.
There are some really beautiful people here. And maybe this website is just the beginning of the "great educational work" to come!

i would appreciate some observations on the latest episode between me and my jw mother, like whether this is something i should ignore or try to resolve.. i was dfd at thirteen, five years ago, for being a gay atheist.
i didnt become homeless only because my mother was/is ill with ms, we maintained a just workable relationship so that i could stay and help her look after herself.. the last three years relations became more tense as i began to piece together what had happened since she joined the org when i was about 3. she demanded yesterday to know why, and i let her have it.. i told her how fucking petrified of life i was as a kid, hearing about armageddon and the world.

If she would read her bible more carefully...the scripture actually says the resurrection is for the just and the unjust.
and this dog dukey about if you die at armageddon you will not come back is malarkey. Show me the money!
A JW elder wife told me that they DO expect many witnesses to die at Armageddon. Which leads me to think Armageddon will be indiscriminate.
I wouldn't worry so much about armagedon and resurection. I say make some time to appreciate the life you have NOW. I think the biggest sin is in not appreciating what you have. And none of us are guaranteed tomorrow.

by NotaNess ini know this topic has been touched over, but when i heard a cooky witness saying to another witness..."the faithful & discreet slave tells us to quit wearing perfume and cologne to kh meetings, and that's what we're supposed to do, if they tell us.
we're to obey the fds, and if we wear the perfume we might as well be disobeying jehovah".
i immediately thought of the conversations on this forum about silly attitudes(the overall issue of obeying the fds on something non-scriptural).

the reason for that is because so many people have allergies. And some people wear scents that are overbearing or actually stinky. It would cause distraction, as well as calling attention to themselves.
