I read recently that certain Key men involved with the United Way (Charity Org) were experiencing some legal issues here in Canada. It seems that they didn't operate by the rules of the charity. Does the WBTS Society have any rules to abide by? Is there actually some abuse of our donations going to settle some of those legal issues? Does anyone have any facts about this?

High Def TV ..This is bad
by Connaughty ini recently attended our special assembly day and the visiting speaker put down hdtv because he didn't think we needed it.
he said that we've been watching tv for many years now without it.
i don't know what bethel is going to do when the tv networks switch to that system.

This is actually turning out to be a good discussion. I appreciated all your comments. It's true that the Society doesn't embrace technology. The facts are in their response to the internet, computers, HDTV, and so much more. I's like we are lost in the 50's. Look at some of the clothing that is at the various assemblies

Birthdays
by sacrebleu inhave any of you noticed how birthdays make you feel?
mine is ignored by my jw sister but when she turned 60 she called me the day before, the day and the day after wanting some kind of recognition.. why should i acknowledge hers when she ignores mine.
it does feel lonesome when the day comes and goes without a call or anything from the jw relatives.. i should be thankful that my hubby and children are not and have never been mixed up in that junk, but my sister is older than me and when i was born and she was so happy to have a little sister.

Well then number 65 is just around the corner. You could send her a gag card or something humourous.
I sure that your sister is dealing with it, but I sure that after living that long she must have a sense of humour.

Annual Meeting Notes - Oct. 6, 2007 and personal notes
by Dogpatch inbro jackson.
indicates total destruction of the wicked system and its spirit.. we (the anointed) are prepared for that day.
they didnt see the whole picture and only had a limited perspective so they lost confidence in jehovah and moses.

Thanks Randy
These notes match the copy that was sent to me by an attendee of this same event. I really wanted to confirm some of the statements by another eyewitness, and this was helpful.

Revelation its ungrand climax
by ush419 ini have been reading the finished mystery lately and am not surprised at the nonsense displayed in it, it rivals the nonsense in the newer box revelation its grand climax.
i had thought that there was another book that covered revelation prior to this fiasco that came out in either the late 80's or early 90's.
if anyone knows pls to inform this one.

Oh for Pierre's(Petes..french translation) sake, Sacrebleu.
Give your sister a break, and acknowledge her acheiving 60 years. Remind her that when you make 60 you want her recognition as well.
As Dr Phill says...be a hero.

Hi Mrs Jones
I just arrived from California as well. Sadly, I saw the beginnings of those fires from our flight leaving LA. I was in Santa Monica, Hollywood, and Beverly Hills. Glad you had a nice reunion.

I think that there's definitely a new elders manual that will be released. But don't be expecting the Society to be making any firm statements in it. This new manual will be for damage control. The material will be vague with a lot of margin space for the attendees to write on the pages. This method protects them as if they never made the statements at all. No doubt their legal staff are behind this strategy.

This counting business is one of my pet peeves. Somehow one of these days the GB will have figured this out and we will study about it in one of the new future Watchtower Study articles, because this new arrangement just can't be shared with the outside. Stay tuned for other changes as well, such as 1) Time can now be counted for Coffee Breaks, but not field service. 2) Sisters who published more than 10 hrs a month in the old arrangement can now carry the microphones. 3) Brothers who didn't do 10 hrs in field service under the old arrangement are barred from giving talks in the Theocratic Ministry school. 4) Brothers who didn't report 10hrs pm under old arrangement, can not provide rides to those who did (they're not worthy of such ones) if, there are no brothers that qualify to give rides to these worthy ones. Let these worthy ones walk to the meetings. But, must do so with a view to witnessing, but will not report time under this new arrangement.
Can you tell that it's late and I'm going crazy, already?
