a man sued four leading fast food chains, claiming he became obese and suffered from other serious health problems from eating their fatty cuisine.
Barber, a 5-foot-10 maintenance worker who weighs 272 pounds, had heart attacks in 1996 and 1999 and has diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. He said he ate fast food for decades, believing it was good for him until his doctor cautioned him otherwise.
"They said '100 percent beef.' I thought that meant it was good for you," Barber told Newsday. "I thought the food was OK."
Is this man the most idiotic person in creation? He has eaten fast food for over fifty years and has the audacity to say that the thought that it was good for him?

you are a true bookworm and dream of a life better than the simple, .
quiet one you lead now.
i have a water cooloer at home and get the jugs delivered and last week discovered that 2 of my 3 bottles were "bad"--- they tasted a bit on the metallic side and caused a bit of a minor stomach bug to those who drank a full glass (only lasted an hour or so after drinking).
i called the company and they are going to come out and replace them at no charge and mail me a report of anything they find in the water.
the third bottle was fine.
well, i must digress..... i was traveling home from work last night when a biker and i both stopped at ajoining stop signs at the same time.
i waved for him to go ahead of me (two roads were converging into one).
he flashed me this goregous smile and went ahead down the country road in a blaze of leather and hair on his steel gray harley.
Puffsrule,
You are sooo naughty!

There, out in the darkness
A fugitive running
Fallen from God
Fallen from grace
God be my witness
I never shall yield
Till we come face to face
Till we come face to face
He knows his way in the dark
But mine is the way of the Lord
And those who follow the path of the righteous
Shall have their reward
And if they fall
As Lucifer fell
The flame
The sword!
Stars
In your multitudes
Scarce to be counted
Filling the darkness
With order and light
You are the sentinels
Silent and sure
Keeping watch in the night
Keeping watch in the night
You know your place in the sky
You hold your course and your aim
And each in your season
Returns and returns
And is always the same
And if you fall as Lucifer fell
You fall in flame!
And so it has been
And so it is written
On the doorway to paradise
That those who falter and those who fall
Must pay the price!
Lord let me find him
That I may see him
Safe behind bars
I will never rest
Till then, this I swear
This I swear by the stars!

the other night i was watching "king of .
queens"with a friend and he said you are "carrie"!!!
i thought about it and he was right.. what character are you?
My perfect match personality wise would have to be Ted (Scott Lowell) from Queer As Folk. Neurotic with a self-deprecating sense of humor.
Second runner-up would have to be Greg (Anthony Clarke) from "Yes, Dear"

if you suffer from anxiety and panics, the problem could lie with your heart and not with your mind.. you might have mitral valve syndrome!http://www.mvpsupport.com/.
i know what im talking about because i have mitral valve syndrome.
years ago, i would sometimes become totally panic stricken for no reason whatsoever.
Count me among those suffering with panic attacks or as I prefer to call it 'anxiety disorder.' LOL!
I've always been one of those people who thinks things have to be done just so; the house has to be spotless, the car must be clean at all times, my desk at the office must be absolutely paper-free...that sort of thing. About three years ago this all came to a head and while I was having lunch with some friends I completely lost it. Felt like I was having a heart attack and was absolutely certain I was going to die. Friends rushed me to the doctor to find that my blood pressure was phenomenally high. The doctor didn't know what was wrong with me, but falsely believed it to be my inner ear.
They bounced me from specialist to specialist before we hit upon the fact that I appeared to be fitting the panic attack profile. They put me on anti-anxiety (a misnomer if ever there was one) medication and things have been much better since. I haven't had a full-blown attack in probably two years or more, but there are still times when I feel like I might be on the verge - deep breathing is a life-saver.
My sister and mother both have problems with MVP, but until reading this thread I never even thought about the possiblity that it could be this causing my problems. Still in all, I'm fairly certain that it is anxiety and/or panic attacks in my case as the triggers are usually the same type of situation.
Still, it's something to mention to the doctor the next time I'm in the office.
Thanks for letting me bore you all! LOL!

as scootergirl's sister, i feel it's my duty to inform everyone as to why she's been mia.
her computer pooped out on wednesday last week.
needless, she's been lost without it.
Beck,
I thought I hadn't seen her posts lately. Tell her that we miss her and hope she'll be back with us in no time.
Any ETA on the repair?

i used to hate the kingdom melodies, but maybe i did like one or two i think one was called "apostates on the march" @ i feel so human
If I never hear "Be Glad You Nations" again, I'll be one happy guy! I had a family member who played that on the piano incessantly. Argh!!
As far as I now, they are still using the piano at the local congregation. Was there a 'mandate' given regarding the playing of the pianos at the hall? Yeah, they don't go beyond what is written, do they?
