What is your opinion of prayer?
by journey-on indo you still pray?
how are your prayers different now that you're not a jw?
what do your prayers involve?

I dont really pray anymore, (have on occasion) but I have to admit, when I was deciding years ago whether or not to leave the borg, I did pray to God, alot, telling him if its a bunch of crap to please enlighten me, and bam one thing after another showed me I was in fact in a mind controlling cult. So, maybe I have had a prayer answered. End of the day, if the person who prays feels peace or calm because of it, does it matter if anyone is in fact listening?

What's "God"?
Well, you know, when you want something really bad and you close your eyes and you wish for it?
God's the guy that ignores you.
Love that movie.

Hi SS, welcome, not sure where you would go to find old friends who have left the borg, wouldn't mind knowing that myself.. but I will say, a few of them found me on Facebook. You can search by name on the site and I was very surprized at the amount of people I found and vice versa.

Proper considerations for going back to the Kingdom Hall after apostacy
by Terry ini want to be reinstated as a jehovah's witness in good standing.. do you promise not to think for yourself?.
i have no need of personal thoughts or opinions anymore.. are you willing to do as you are told by some very old men living in brooklyn, new york who don't know you and have never met you?.
i prefer having strangers outline my every action and tell me what is best for my life.. do you promise to act as though every other honest, sincere, forthright, charitable person in other religions is working for satan?.

I guess they have to rely more on technology than holy spirit these days.
Can you imagine the circle jerk they are having reading your masterbation thread!
LMAO! Yeah that would start some watchtower wanking sessions for sure!

I'm just curious
by RAF in.
i'm just curious to get the point ... what did you find the most satisfying in your relationship (i mean serious relationship which is supposed to last) with your other half after 5 to 10 years:.
a listing would be nice in the preferential order like.

Hmm, interesting thread, my last serious relationship would list as follows:
1. Talking for hour and hours, about anything and everything and never running out of something to discuss with each other. (I am talking months and months of sitting down nightly and shooting the shit for hours, till the wee mornings.)
2. He taught me alot of new things and vice versa.
3. The ability to tell the other, your being an ass.
4. His food, yum, he's a chef!
5. Of course, sex!

cheesy movies
by Hortensia ini am watching "independence day" which is one of my favorite movies - i watch it every time it comes on television.
i also really like "beetlejuice," "the american president," and several others that i admit are cheesy but a great deal of fun.
"men in black" is great too.. what are your favorite cheesy movies?

What kind of positive proof would you need....
by journey-on into accept the existence of god?
(i'm not talking about "a big man in the sky" kind of deity.
) what would it take to convince you that mankind was intentionally created by a powerful and intelligent creative force?

Believing in Christianity and believing in intelligent design aren't one and the same. They can either reside together or seperately.
