recently, with my dad and two of my closest friends, i stumbled upon an interesting situation....they all know where i stand and what the issues were that became a wt dealbreaker for me...but all three of them have recently (and in the past) expressed opinions that go directly against fds teachings...not doubts....they just do not agree with something taught.
but two of them have actually put a mental block on a wt teaching they do not agree with, but what is funny is they both told me "i don't think we have ever been taught that so directly" (by the slave)....both times i was stunned!....these two teachings are huge wt dogma and taught very often....but because it conflicted with what they actually believe....they thought it must no be a real wt teaching.. 1. the first one was my dad...i told him i was mad at god and wt....he asked why...so i said well it could be this frikkin reading glasses i cant get used to, or my bad knee thats aching, and my back sometimes goes out!....and i was told all my life that for sure i did not need a college degree or great job cause i would never grow old or die and the end was just a few short years away!!
!.....so then he said the above quote...and i was like "what about the talk and books "million now living will never die"....so he says that is not as specific as to what my gripe was.....so i do my research and send him an email with two dozen quotes...my fave is the may 22,1969 awake that said youths "you better face this fact..you will never finish a carreer in this system...you dont need college....cause you will never grow old or die....the end is few short years away.
Great work Oompa, on a recent visit with my mom I got her to admit (after a very heated debate) she would leave the "truth" if I could prove from the bible that WTS is not the Big J's org on earth. Of course, the guilt mechanism kicked in right afterward and she wouldn't let me prove anything, but I felt a ting of doubt in her due to the conversation and hopefully someday, she'll actually let me show her some proof. Not holding my breath, but it would be wonderful, if nothing else, for her to at least concede privately to herself that something stinks in Denmark.

i read a book a few years back entitled white moguls, which looked at the british rule in india.
apparently, quite a few upper class englishmen ended up going native in india, and ended up not only with great wealth and power, but also with their own harems.
it seems to me that they had great lives!

I'd rather be happy with who I am and whole as an individual regardless of my relationship status. Both have benefits and downsides. I'm very used to be on my own now, having my space, my independance, but if it was the right person for me, I'd be willing to compromise some of those things in order to meet in the middle and share a life based on enhancement rather than "need". My relationship motto is that I might want someone special to share my life with but I don't need anyone to complete my life.

It was easy to forget that voice, with all the other voices ringing inside my head, all clamouring to be heard. It was hard to know where they stopped and where I began. I pushed the voice away, as I always did, holding on to whatever shred of self control I would like to have believed I held. There was no more time to contemplate the circus parading thru my own mind as Lucky walked straight towards me and sat down uninvited. I felt my jaw clench and forced myself to relax it. This was a powder keg waiting to be lite.
Since I don't have birthday candles, I would be unable to say it's a birthday candle.

"Good then" replied the bartender, his hand ungripping the baseball bat that lay behind the bar. "We don't want no trouble here Lucky". Lucky looked toward the bartender again, a snarl evident on his lip but said nothing, he swayed backwards a bit then caught his bearings to take a good look around him. He eyed everyone up as a cutthroat eyes up a purse sizing what kind of score it holds inside it.
