I will agree with you on George de mestral (he was in fact, swiss), maker of velcro. But I am going fight for AGB lol!
Although Alexander Graham Bell did in fact move to the states,
In 1870, at age 23, he and his parents immigrated to Canada, where they settled at Brantford, Ontario.
In Canada, Alexander Bell continued an interest in the study of the human voice and ear (his father was an authority on speech disorders), and he also explored a method of communication with electricity. He designed a piano which, by means of electricity, could transmit its music at a distance. ( Yes, he did live in the states, but his final resting place and his citizenship in fact were in Canada.)
[edit] Death
Bell died of Pernicious anemia [35] on 2 August1922, age 75, at his private estate, Beinn Bhreagh, located on Nova Scotia's Cape Breton Island near the village of Baddeck. He was buried atop Beinn Bhreagh mountain overlooking Bras d'Or Lake. He was survived by his wife and two of their four children. [36]
In September 1875, Bell wrote the patent specifications for, and refined the design of, the telephone in Brantford (Canada), although he had actually developed the first one in Boston with Watson. He also did later work with Sir William Thomson at Cambridge (England).
