My Nightmare
by Esmeralda ini had a very vivid nightmare this morning that i was somehow, stuck inside of the "special meeting" that is scheduled to take place tomorrow in several locations, including one locally.. i dreamed that they were telling people that they had purchased a large parcel of land in indiana (don't know why on earth i picked that state, it was just a dream *lol*) and were building housing "opportunities" in the new wts sanctioned small town and that any who wanted to continue learning and following the "path of jehovah" would have to sell everything they owned and move there.. they had brochures and everything that they handed out.
i remember thinking in my dream that i had to get out of there with one so i could get it scanned in to show to all you guys lol.. okay so the forum is showing up in my dreams.
now that is scary!.

Whats your thoughts on sex & the WTS
by Leander inhopefully this topic won't shock anyone, i'll try to keep my comments as tasteful as possible.
just recently (last weekend) my younger brother met with the elders because he was engaged in fornication.
the elders decided to disfellowship him even though he had long stopped having any contact with the person he had been involved with.

Why so much DEFICIT?
by Aintthatcute inwhen i sit at a ca and the bro comes out and reads the financial report it is alwasy in the red (deficit).
then i ask myself: "if we own this building, the parking area, and there is no food being served; how in the world can we have a deficit?
" typically, the deficit is in the range of $5000 and $7000.

Oh my bad Aint, you're talking about CA, not cong. funds. I have no idea about those.

I don't know what the hell you're talking about, it doesn't make any sense. I was accounts servant at one time, and I was fully in charge of every transaction that took place. I know where each dollar was going, and there was never any funny business going on.
In our cong, we had thousands of bucks in the bank. However, if the expenses for that month were greater than the contributions, then it was called a deficit.

We cannot blame the sex organs God has put within man and woman if they are used to sin. They are so constructed that they remain calm until impulses are received from the mind and heart to excite them. The capacity for response is there in the body. It is dormant until stimulated. Rather than satisfying, the thrill of touching can easily create a desire for closer contact: kissing, toying with private parts of the body and going all the way to committing fornication or adultery. All of this may not develop on one occasion, but desire can build in intensity as one thinks on the pleasure received and looks forward to another occasion to receive it, even scheming and maneuvering to bring about the occasion….The doctor gives you a shot of pain-killer to deaden the nerves when he is about to operate on a particular part of the body. We can deaden our body members with respect to wrong desires and impulses by the way we neutralize and nullify wrong desires in the heart and mind, and by the way we cultivate the right desires, chief of which should be to do the will of God

Meeting's..........the best Medicine!!!
by Latte indo you remember those truly wonderful occasions when the meeting was in full swing, and something/one would make you laugh uncontrollably............so much so that you had to go out.
(and yes, your were sat on the front row!
you would go out and feel terribly guilty, and when you thought you were under control, you would venture back in only to find that the air was still full of laughter (on your row)..............truly wonderful meetings!!

One I've heard:
A brother's about to give the public talk, as he's approaching the podium, he cuts one loose, and loud. When he gets to the stage, he says: "That was for you Satan." Everyone roared.

circular logic
by DIM inthe bible is inspired because the bible says it is inspired.
the watchtower society has the truth because the watchtower society says it has the truth

You're right, the Bible self-proclaimed inspiration does not extricate it from the rest of the phony religious books that have been circulated throughout the ages.
However, I think a distinguished indicia of the bible may be its prophetic nature. No man of his own originality can foretell future events in explicit detail, especially regarding national affairs over which he has no control, centuries after his death. Now if the Bible books such as Daniel and Isaiah were written when some scholars say they were written, this would inevitably be substantial evidence against Bible critics, since they'd be unable to repudiate the accuracy of its fulfillment.

a week after the attacks, the hamilton county commission in chattanooga, tenn., voted to post the ten commandments in city and county government buildings.
if a court frowns on the action, commission chairman bill hullander said, 'i would sure not want to be the person to walk up there and pull the nail out of it, so to speak, and take it down.

Emboldened by Hamilton County's vote, the nearby town of Ringgold, Ga., approved the posting of three plaques one with the Ten Commandments, one with the Lord's Prayer, and a blank one 'for those who believe in nothing,' as Councilman Bill McMillon explained it.

That's true, you never know, he or his poor donkey may come into the truth one day. Just look at the apostle Paul. There's always hope, let's just pray.
