One Sunday meeting about 10 apostates decided to visit our KH. They spread out and seated in various places within the Hall. One of the men sat on the front row during the talk and visably read the Sunday times right in front of the speaker. What a hoot!

Your most memorable Kingdom Hall meeting disruptions!
by easyreader1970 ini remember about twenty years ago some teenagers were caught fornicating in one of the additional schools.
the schools were downstairs, essentially separated from the rest of the kh.
they weren't just happened upon, though.

WHAT if we're wrong?
by shell69 ini mean, i know i'm bitter.. normally these days quite strong, not feeling so much so much the last few days though.. what i'd give to do the things i was used to.
going doing the weekly shop with my mum, her popping round for a brew in the morning.. a hug from her, just to to know from the way she communicated with me, that she loved me.
i miss her so much.. and what if i'm wrong?.

Shell,
My heart aches for you because like the other posters here, I have been in your shoes. And yes, it does get better with time.
Being a part of this forum has helped me so much. Before I found it, I felt so very alone. And now, when I am feeling those feelings (and I still do from time to time) I get on this forum and start to read....
I am not DF'd but my sister treats me like the I don't exist. That's okay though. I wouldn't trade places with her and her "theocratic" family for anything in the world!! Freedom is so sweet! Grasp it and hang on. You have many friends here.

Playing the guilt game
by legalchickie ini just found out that my half-sister visited our 89 year old mother in a nursing home yesterday and told her that she should be getting out in service and to the meetings!!
i do so want to call her and tell her just what i feel about her and this cult of hers!!
i was a jw for 25 years and stopped going to the kh about 4 years ago.

Thanks Dave.
Actually, she has been on the outer fringes for a long time too. Especially, when they DFd my oldest son about 10 years ago. He wrote the Elders a heartfelt letter and asked for forgiveness (he and some others, none of who were disciplined!) had too much to drink at a party. The others got off scott free (being offspring of elders) and they kicked my son out. That was the beginning of the end for me, and my mom never would comply with not associating with her grandson!
Mostly, she is fine with not going to the hall and out in service, it's just when my lovely sister comes around and makes her feel bad.

Yes Dave, she does. She does pretty well most of the time and then this sick sister of mine and her husband get ahold of her. It brings it all back. Thank goodness that she isn't close to my sister. They only come around to see her about every 4-5 months, then it's only for an hour or so. But she can do a lot of damage in that short amount of time.

Whew!! Thanks for setting me straight on that one!!
I must say that I have carried around guilt for a very long time because I felt since I wasn't going to meetings or out in service that I was keeping my mom away too. If I didn't go, she didn't go, even if she could catch a ride. It's very hard to lose that guilt, even now. I haven't shared with her anything I have learned about the JWs. It would be too hard for her to understand in her advanced age.
This is just a vicious, horrible cult and I am so very glad to be out of it. And to find friends on this site that truly understand what it's like on the inside.

My mother has never driven a day in her life and was always dependent on me to take her places, including the kh. Now, she is feeling guilty for not going to the meetings and out in service.
Wasn't that just such a lovely thing for my so called "sister" to do to her?? Especially at this time in her life??
Hold me back before I get a gun......

It looks like I will become an elder this week!
by outofthebox inthat's right guys.
as i told you before, they boe have been considering me for the eldership.
which i don't care for, but since my family is stuck in this cult, i guess i can use the new position to help them see that the holy spirit has nothing to do with me being an elder.

I know personally that HS does not direct the elders. If it did, then why did they re-instate my ex two times (he was smoking)? Even tho he was let back in, he never quit smoking, even for a day!

I have also faded out but I think the thing that I enjoy the most is no more Tuesday nite service mtg, thursday nite book study, sat morning service, 2 hour meeting on sunday. it just feels great not feel that pressure and obligation anymore. i just wish i could get back all of those years of missing my kid's birthdays, christmas, thanksgiving, etc., all of the years wasted...FOR WHAT???
Freedom is oh so sweet after you have been in prison for 25 years.. party on......
