  Update: Accordnig to information received from the person to whom these words were spoken, Dan Sydlik's actual words were: "We should just start from Genesis 1:1 and reexamine everything we believe." The source person further stated: "I do not recall him saying that we should scrap everything, but the implication was that there would be no holds barred. We could question anything."

  Just what was this evidence? How was it confirmed? What witness did "the spirit" give?

  If he thought it was God-made how could it be scrapped? If he thought it was man-made why didn't he walk away? That's not even the blind leading the blind, that's pure selfishness.

  Who's this "we" you're talking about? You want the posters from JWD to invade Myanmar???

  Oh! You *don't" want the posters to invade or force aid! That's a relief! I have no idea how to accesorize for an invasion! I mean, do I bring apostate pamphlets or do I first teach them what WT promises and then show them another perspective?

  Please take into account that this board has a diverse membership the next time you compose a post mentioning "we".

  Do you think a JW could be a psychologist?

  i am trying to get my brother to go speak to someone just to help him because he is very depressed(we all know why).

  he said the only person he would speak with is this brother who is a psychologist.

  i really find it hard to believe that a jw could practice with the realization the whole organization is about mind control.

  There are several JW-psychiatrists/psychologists. Some will only take JW's for patients, others won't take JW patients at all. Of the ones who do see JW's I have read that some have broken doctor-patient confidentiality and talked to the elders about what the patient said. If the patient knows that is a possibility going in and agrees to it...well, to each his or her own! If it's done without the patient's knowledge or prior consent think of the harm that might be done. This is something to communicate to anyone who is considering getting professional help from a JW.

  As far as mind control is concerned, ever hear of a double blind?

  My suggestion is that you dig up the Awake! articles on depression from back in the '80's. They mention seeking professional help and they don't limit it to JW practitioners. There are suggestions and things to consider before seeking professional assitance in one of the articles, maybe if you presented that information to your JW it would do some good. At least it would show from their own publications that a non-JW practitioner is OK.

  Our CO gave a talk to kids. Stay OUT of school!

  he wanted to talk to the young ones in the congregation.

  the main theme of the talk had to do with avoiding higher education.

  basically the main idea was this: witnesses are losing alot of young people here in the last few years.

  Gonna Be Authentic to My Witness Relatives - Send Pictures - Hell With It

  i've decided i'm gonna let the chips fall where they may.

  i feel it's part of my growth here on jwd and how some of you have taught me to stand up , and be authentic towards my relatives !

  don't worry, i'm not losing my mind - but since some of my witness relatives accept my wife and i since our marriage ( my parents) , yet a couple of my siblings waffle somewhat anyway ( my older ex-bethel brother and ex-gilead sister ) and are sitting on the fence towards me as a fader - i figured i'd just send pictures of my wife and my wedding to them, my parents, and my nieces and nephews as well !

  So- What do you folks think of this idea ? Just kill them with kindness as the expression goes? Be authentic , be real, and put the ball in their court if they want to serve it back to me ?

  I wonder if this CO knows the whereabouts and occupation of Judah Ben Schroeder or that of "Brother" Schroeder's wife.
