Tell me what you did on the doors?
by ballistic inme and my pioneer partner used to play a game while going door to door (we were obviously bored).
in our rural territory, we had a lot of time between doors to make things up, so various games evolved.
just about the naughtiest was to give your partner a word which they had to use at all costs in their presentation.. this started out as 'kingdom' and 'jesus' but soon became 'tractor', 'dog' and then even 'honda 250' and so on.

well I never went door to door....never was a jw. but yesterday I saw a couple of mormon boys accross the street so engaged in a conversation that they stood and waited at a door for someone to answer for 5 min....the folks that lived there moved 3 weeks ago....you could see the bare living room through the window...LOL.

well then she says that she is considering having an abortion...which i am totally against....so we discussed it...then she started to think that she might have the child....so she talked it over with her twin sister...and she told her to get the abortion...now she says she wants the abortion...now i am upset...not onlly does she want the abortion...but she wants me to pay for the entire thing...so not only am i going to be terminating a developing life...but i have to pay for it????

Well I suppose I will sound in here...I proudly say that I am Pro-choice----but I think the "choice" is made at the time of conception. That is when you chose to have sex or not...no form of birth controll is 100%....therefore by definition you are takeing a calculated risk. But we all know what possible outcomes there may be. The choice has allready been made...and I think it says a lot about the person who would make the choice and then want to get out of the responsibility of makeing that choice.

Paganism is ok when we say it is
by zenpunk inwe all probably know already that jws don't celebrate christmas, labeling it a pagan holiday and telling its whole sordid history to anyone who'll listen.
however, i found out that wedding rings are pagan in origin.
the jws know it but they include the exchange of rings during the wedding ceremony, explaining that rings are exchanged as an outward symbol to everyone that this couple is married, thus justifying the pagan origin of the whole thing.

OK...on this issue what gets me is this...
The early church turned a pagan holiday into a christian holiday....the WTS says this is bad
the early christians tuned a pagan practice (baptism) into a christian one....the WTS says this is good.
WILL SOMEONE MAKE UP THERE MIND!!!!....then let jehovah know cause he has a lot of work to do.

Theocratic Warfare at my house part 3, the end

just twenty minutes ago i was sitting at the piano and my wife comes up to me and says, "i talked to the brothers, you were absolutely right, i apologize, he (my minor son) will never go to the meetings again".
i sat there in stunned shock both happy and sad at the same time.

I know exactly how you feel. When my wife went back to the Borg I forbid the children from going. My kids are 6, 5, and 2. Now the real issue here is that my work scedual is weird. I work swing shift and my days off coincide well enough that whenever she is at meeting I am able to watch the kids. I however am also the back up for a small dept. that requries me to every few month's work diffrent hours every few months. That meant she would either have to find childcare so that she could go to meeting or not go. I found out that she had been takeing them. I told her that it would stop now or the kids and I would leave...that's it. Well she got all up in arms. We faught for weeks on this issue. She finally had her study partner talk to the elders for her thinking they would back her up. Her study partner calls one night and I hear "uh-huh...really...no no I'm quite suprised too..wow...well OK". After about 10 min. of trying to get it out of her what the call was about (she had not told me that she had her freind talk to the elders)...she told me. The elders said I was right and that if I said no..then she could not bring them...as a matter of fact I had the authority to forbid ANY WTS teachings to my children. She was calm and matter of fact about it. Just the day before we had a huge fight over this issue. I sat there with my jaw on the floor....not at the fact that the elders backed me up, but at the weird "well that's that" attitude. BOOM just like that, the elders speak and all the passion on the issue is gone. I too felt it as a hollow victory. I felt such sorrow at this blatent display of my wifes mind becomeing part of the hive.
GOD I HATE THIS FU**ING CULT TOO!
