  Do Elders report these...?

  i was wondering with all the child abuse cases that dont get to the proper authorities...what about other crimes.. does anyone know if elders have been told to report other crimes to the police.. and does anyone have proof----i would be very interested in getting any kind of letters written to the elders from the wts.

  im sure they have their "policies" out for public viewing but as we all know what those say and the letters to elders are two different things.. thanks.

  My mother in-law was assualted by an elder last year. He tried to put the "moves" on her. She did not report it to anyone but the elders in her cong. She said that she did not want to bring reproch on jehova's name. The elders told the CO and he gave the elder in question "a stern talking too". But that's all. My mother in-law said that all she could do is wait on Jehovah and let him deal with it in the end. I told her that I would hate to be waiting on jehovah and find out in the end that jehovah was waiting for me to do his work.

  is the WTBTS the False Prophet??

  I came to a belief a while back that the WTS...(ALONG with many many others) are PART of the false prohpet. I think that the one in revelation is a masive group of "church" leaders that led many astray....like the WTS.

  hey all of you who have the new worship book....(my wife brought one back last week end) .

  turn the very first page...(the one that has the title of the book on it) .

  now on the back side of that page you will see a paragraph "to our readers" .

  now the good part....look all the way to the bottom and you will see 2 lines that say

  "photo credits"....notice the two listed there....the navy for the cover picture and the UN for a picture of starving kids on pg.180!!

  Things that make you go HMMM!!!

  Frogs, Demons and Propoganda

  our co shared a good scripture thought with the congregation.

  he turn to revelation 16:13-14 and showed the congregation that satan and his demons have inspired unclean lying expressions that come from opposers of jehovah god.. the expressions are propaganda.

  like other kinds of propoganda, the co said, these expressions are half-truths.

  Would/Do you wear a Cross around your neck ??

  after all that we had drummed into us about not the cross, and particularly about not venerating the symbol itself, i have been wondering about this issue.. so, what are your views about wearing a cross around your neck ?

  is it just a fashion accessory, or does it mean something to you ?.

  inquiring minds would like to know

  hmmm..the argument "why would I want to where a symble of tourture" does not hold water with me. Personally I beleve that jesus died on that cross for me. It's not a reminder of his tourture...but of his sacrifice...of which I will never be worthy. But hey...combined with the statement I made early in this thread, every time I feel it against me as go about my daily life, I am reminded of these things. It's a consistant reminder in my day to day life...when the mind is full of the things in this life. I might feel it and look down and be re-assured that no mattter how bad/hard things are....it's only a temporary condition. It brings me much comfort.

  I guess that is the real point in all of this...also the real point to God. What does it mean to you? The WT will say "to do this means..." or "to celibrate this means...." They TELL you what it means...there is NO room for what it means to YOU. Many never know the origins of these holidays, customs, ECT.... before comeing to the JW's. These things have there own special meaning to them....but then the WT says "This is what it means" therefore it's bad. Who are they to tell me what it means to me? If God, in the end, looks at what's in your heart, who are they to say this is what it means to God?

  ok...I got this one...

  For me there is nothing wrong with wearing a cross. why do maried people wear rings? So that everyone they see can tell that they are married. That is the same type of reason that a christian wears a cross...so that everyone they see knows they are a christian. I hope that this answers your question...i can only tell you why I do.

  Channel One--please help

  ok starting about 10 years ago channel one was and is a newstation that is for jr, high and high school students.

  i remmeber watching the gulf war on it, bosnia and a lot of differnt events.

  it was a 15 min news program that we watched everyday.. lisa ling was on it before she left to join 'the view'.
