When your wife comes near the computer and you close the JWD window and make this face...and she thinks you are being unfaithful (which is in a way true, not unfaithful to her, but to the Borg.)

A little bit of this...a little bit of that.....
by coffee_black ina friend of mine sent me the following... gave me a laugh...and a few surprises.
in the 1400's a law was set forth in england that a man was allowed to beat his wife with a stick no thicker than his thumb.
hence we have 'the rule of thumb' .

You find it embarassing when a speaker uses kindergarten theocratic reasoning and extremely repulsive that no one in the hall seems to notice it or care.

I finally Left!
by The Doc 58 ini would like to give the full details of my leaving the jw's, but i don't have a lot of time at this moment.
basically i was raised in the organization and it drove me pretty insane bacause my father was an elder, mother a pioneer, sister a bethelite, etc.
so, i did the whole thing for a long time.

...when you are reading, drinking a cup of coffe and keep staring at the door of the coffe shop making sure no JW enters and finds out that the heavy hardcover book you are reading is not the NWT with references, although both authors are named Franz.

Blood conversation with JW
by besty innot many jw's speak to me - london penge's chief apostate is persona non grata :-).
in any case there are a few who still speak to us (less than 10 altogether but still, bethel take note...) and i had the opportunity to discuss the blood fiasco with one of them recently.
their argument was that even if the wts gets some things wrong, they get a lot right and jehovah will sort it all out.

It is frustrating to have such a conversation. I am using silence as a weapon now.

I strongly beleive Raul will start a transition to democracy. For too long, he has been a secondary figure in Cuba. He would create a historical image for himself if he does that. Bear in mind that it was his idea to open the Cuban market to foreign investment after the end of the cold war. Although Cuba accepted foreigh investment before that, at the time, the government had remained the main shareholder in all enterprises, but Raul considered that, due to the new political scenario, and because of the absence of the Soviet economic assistance, a larger degree of foreign investment was urgent. It was because of that transformation of the Cuban economic model that Cuba did not fall apart. In short, let's not underestimate Raul's ability and willingness to make changes. After all these years of suffering and lack of freedom, Cubans deserve a better system.
